Journaling Feature now offered with Mac OS X Server version 10.2...
Mac OS X Server version 10.2.2 now provides a robust new journaling feature for the Mac OS Extended (HFS+) file system. Journaling protects the integrity of the file system on Xserve and other Mac OS X Server-based systems in the event of an unplanned shutdown or power failure. Features include: * Rapid recovery of large file systems following an unplanned shutdown or power failure * Automatic logging of file system transactions to ensure file system consistency * Easy to apply to existing Mac OS Extended volumes without reformatting * Fully compatible with earlier versions of the Mac OS Extended file system More information is available at: <(a href= "http://a1216.g.akamai.net/7/1216/51/bbe3c6c1194208/www.apple.com/server/pdfs/L24481A_Journaling_TB.pdf")(span )(/span)http://www.apple.com/server/pdfs/...

Flatten OSX Headers, a tool for REALbasic developers
I would like to announce something specific to developers who are for one reason or another bound to deliver CFM applications, code resources and/or plugins for the MacOS X platform. Nowedays the CarbonLib 1.6 is the last library to which one can link too in a CFM based environment, and any new features in OSX won't make it in carbonlib anymore. Developers know how to weak link to the systemFramework of MacOSX, while the header files in the various frameworks provide the prototypes of the functions available. CodeWarrior does not provide precompiled headers for CFM-based targets, only MACHO-based targets on OSX. The tool provided here is a little application that could have been implemented by MetroWerks. It provides a flattened version of the many framework header files, and does some other interesting things. The flattened headers can be used in CW 4, 5, 6,7, 8, and be precompiled. The advantage then is that one can access any function, use any type, without worrying that it may...

PDF Magic Professional 1.0 Now Shipping
October 21, 2002 PDF Magic Professional 1.0 Now Shipping! Orlando, FL - Acro-Works Software (a division of Acro-Works, Inc) is pleased to announce the official release of their newest software, PDF Magic. Used for automating the process of creating interactive, multi-media, PDF files; PDF Magic shatters the mold for PDF automation by introducing an entirely new approach for creating multi-page, interactive PDF documents. Each approach has its drawbacks. An Acrobat plug-in to add links or transitions works only post-distillation (i.e. after the source file has been converted to a PDF). Consequently, all the work needs to be repeated each time that changes / revisions are made to the source file,...
