"While speeches are a great opportunity to tell people about PostgreSQL and
to impart knowledge, they don't offer enough time to show techniques or
strategies. I am excited about this training because it allows for in-depth
coverage of PostgreSQL and the best way to use it."
- Bruce Momjian

PostgreSQL (also known as Red Hat Database) is the most advanced of the
Open Source databases. Many organizations from large corporations, to
government institutions, to small online businesses have used PostgreSQL to
handle their most valuable data and mission critical applications. Here are
some of the benefits of PostgreSQL:

* Exceptional performance and speed
* Uncompromising reliability
* World-class security
* Flexibility to be extended as required
* Highly scalable design
* Worldwide Independent Software Vendor (ISV) network
* Extensive support options
* Minimal administration requirements
* Low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
* ANSI Standards Compliance

"I've been using PostgreSQL for two years, and its performance and
reliability have consistently surpassed my expectations. I'm tremendously
proud that the Big Nerd Ranch is going help developers understand how to
leverage the full power of this tremendous database server."
- Aaron Hillegass, Big Nerd Ranch, Inc.
