InterMapper 3.7 Offers Notification Dependencies

Hanover, NH - November 5, 2002 - Dartware LLC announces immediate
availability of InterMapper(R) 3.7. InterMapper is a network monitoring
application that continually checks the servers, routers, switches, and
other networked equipment and alerts the network manager when there are
problems using audible alerts, e-mail messages, pages, and running scripts.

There are three major features in this version:

* Notification Dependencies. InterMapper will automatically suppress
notifications of devices that become unreachable due to a failure of an
intervening device. For example, when a core router fails, InterMapper will
not send notifications for those devices that can't be queried because of
that router's failure.

* Built-in paging, with support for SNPP and modems. InterMapper has
a built-in notification that will send pages to SNPP servers. In addition,
InterMapper for MacOS X can now send pages using the Mac's built-in modem
or an external modem.

* Remote map editing. With the latest version of InterMapper Remote,
the network manager can create, edit, and delete maps from a separate
computer. Even when the InterMapper machine is in the network operations
center, the network administrator can manage it from another location, such
as another office, from home, or even while on the road.

InterMapper 3.7 also has the following features:

* Xserve probe. InterMapper will monitor an Xserve, and report when
there are problems. The network manager can then launch Apple's Server
Monitor application to get detailed information about the problem.
* SSL encryption for the InterMapper Remote and Web browser connections.
* Improved web page format. InterMapper now sports a new look for its
web pages.
* New security mechanism. InterMapper 3.7 has a built-in firewall to help
control which address may access the server, and who may access individual
maps.

InterMapper is priced by the number of devices being monitored. Prices range
from $1,995 for an unlimited number of devices down to $295 for 10 devices; all
licenses include a 60 day support subscription. Educational discounts are also
available.
