Prevent profiling through cookies.
|
A cookie is an informational file stored on your hard disk. Cookies originate from various websites visited during your surfing sessions. Cookies were originally designed to identify your session, when you surf or shop at a particular website.
More often than not marketing firms abuse the use of cookies, attempting to identify your surfing habits through several websites. To avoid abuse, Cookie Eraser deletes cookies automatically after your surfing session.
Cookie data is only useful after an extended period of surfing (generally, several weeks). Since cookies are erased after each session, you can no longer be profiled.

When you exit your browser, the characteristic sound you hear a few moments later, indicates the cookies have been erased. The Cookie Eraser counter increments the value each time and displays the number of cookies deleted during all browsing sessions.
Some web sites use cookies to remember your preferred settings on that specific site. These cookies can be marked in the Cookie Eraser White List and are excluded from deletion.
