OHCI

OHCI is an acronym for Open Host Controller Interface and is usually used in the context of Firewire cards. An OHCI card contains a standard interface which other programs and drivers can use. This means that OHCI cards work with the standard range of drivers, whereas non-OHCI usually require their own drivers and / or applications.

OHCI can apply to other interface cards as well, such as USB.
