Edit iCal Event Titles Directly

In the Leopard version of iCal, double-clicking an event shows a summary of the event, and to edit the name (or anything else), you must click the Edit button in the summary pop-up. To bypass the summary and edit pop-ups entirely, Option-double-click the event name. That selects the text for editing, and you can make any changes you want. Click outside the event to save your changes.

HoudahSpot 3.0

Houdah Software has released a major update to HoudahSpot, the file search tool that provides an alternative interface to Mac OS X's Spotlight. HoudahSpot 3.0 adds several new features, including file tagging capabilities, user interface elements that provide easy access to tagging features and templates, and tag-based searching. HoudahSpot's menu bar item has also been improved such that clicking it opens the Blitzsearch window, while right-clicking it opens a menu listing the program's templates. Comments about HoudahSpot 3.0

As one of the beta testers of this upgrade and a long-time user of HoudahSpot, this is a major improvement. The tagging feature is very useful, as is the new tray that hides on a selected screen edge and uses a modifier key to prevent unintentional triggering.
Correction: it's not a free update. According to Houdah's web site, it costs $8 to upgrade to 3.0 from a previous version (unless you purchased this year).
