It is rated Important for Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac and requires that you've previously installed the Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.5.6 Update. Comments about Microsoft Office 2004 11.5.7

I have tried several times to get the installer to work, but no luck. Tried from both AutoUpdate, and downloading from Microsoft website. It always hangs when it start looking for various items/files. Can anyone shed some insight on what's happening? Thanks.

Often these sorts of problems are related to having renamed or moved files. But if you've been able to apply all the updates up to this one, that's probably not it.

Realistically, your exposure is pretty low, so I wouldn't stress about this too much, and would recommend just being a little more cautious about opening files from dubious sources.

Phil later alerted me that the problem was related to the installer seeing a copy of Office on his Time Machine drive; when he dismounted the Time Machine drive, the installation worked properly.
