Option-Click in Scroll Bars for Jump Scrolling

In Mac OS X in general, and thus in most native Mac OS X applications, hold down the Option key and click anywhere in a window's scroll bar to jump to that spot (rather than scrolling one screen). If you like this behavior, you can make it the default in the Appearance preference pane. For "Click in the scroll bar to:" select "Jump to here."

AirPort Client Update 2009-002

Some Snow Leopard users have suffered from AirPort problems since 10.6 was released. In this client update, which requires 10.6.2, Apple says it has fixed three major bugs. First, it repairs some systems that, when upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard, could not turn AirPort on or off. Second, the update eliminates what Apple calls an "occasional" problem when using Wake on Demand, where network access would be unavailable. (Wake on Demand, new in Snow Leopard, lets a computer connected to an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule base station be woken over either Ethernet or Wi-Fi for network access to advertised Bonjour services.) Finally, this update restores the capability to create software base station (look in the Sharing preference pane) or computer-to-computer networks to some MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini systems that previously had trouble.

Comments about AirPort Client Update 2009-002

This update did NOT fix a problem that I have had ever since upgrading my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Basically, I can't transfer any files over about a few Kb (>500Kb) across to my partner's MacPro (also upgraded to Snow Leopard) over our Airport link. Never had any such problems all the time when we were with Tiger! Very disappointing given all the hype about Snow Leopard.
I have the same problem, I'm sorry to hear that it isn't solved.
As a workaround I use the drop box feature now.
Chris,

Could you describe your failure in a bit more detail? Is the AirPort loosing commection? Is the AirPort staying connected, but the file transfer stalls out?

If the transfer is just stalling out, you can try this command to see if it helps:

sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0

This update seems to have achieved the opposite of its purpose. I didn't have any computer-to-computer problems over wifi until I installed this update. Now internet sharing does not work after restart until I manually turn it off and on again in the Sharing prefs panel. (2008 MacPro, Snow Leopard 10.6.2)

Wow! Anybody apply this update and actually have it work? Now I am afraid to apply it to my early 2008 MacBook Pro. :

A sample size of 3 or 4 doesn't indicate that 20 million people had problems.

It still stinks when you're one of the few with problems.

I never had any problems, but installed this and now have ZERO CONNECTIVITY to my WiFi Router. Completely broken now. :-(

I have the same problem with ZERO Conectivity

Installed update. I have two extremes one extending my network. Now one extreme has to be within 2 metres of the other to make a connection

I have an Intel Mac mini and an iPod Touch and finally I can share my Internet connection with the iPod Touch for more than two minutes and for more than one time per boot. I am sharing from dialup because that's all that's available out here in the Western NC mountains,
Same experience as Stef, the update broke more than it fixed. Got this problem on my fathers Mac mini, after applying the update.
