Fetch 5.5 adds editing with any application, Quick Look support
Fetch Softworks (http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/) has released Fetch 5.5, a new version of the Mac file transfer program. The new version's improved editing support lets you edit any sort of remote file using any application. You can also now use Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard's Quick Look technology to view many more kinds of remote files without leaving Fetch. What's more, the file transfer engine has been upgraded to upload web sites and other large collections of files with more reliability. Fetch takes advantage of Leopard code signing, making the system keychain and the new Leopard application firewall more convenient to use, according to its developers. TechSmith Corp., a provider of screen capture and recording solutions, has released a new version of Jing (http://www.jingproject.com/), which offers a way to add screen-captured images and videos to any online conversation by sharing a link. Jing is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and higher. Jing Pro users can now switch back and forth between their screen video and their webcam video to add more personality, make a quick introduction, send a video postcard, record a video greeting, and more, according to Tony Dunckel, Jing product manager at TechSmith. Servoy releases iPhone app builder
Servoy, a platform provider for SaaS solutions, has introduced a free Phone application builder that allows end-users to create custom iPhone applications "on-the-fly" without programming knowledge and deploy them enterprise-wide. The application, available here (http://www.servoy.com/iphone), runs on any SQL database (internal, hosted over the Internet or on a local machine) and each separate iPhone form created in the application designer can be based on different databases or tables. The main "builder" application is a mini-IDE. By specifying the metadata about the database and table, the i program will automatically create all the necessary forms and objects. Vjoon offers K4 as a full-service rental application
Media companies, publishing houses, and corporate publishers now have the option to rent vjoon's K4 Publishing System (though not in the Americas). According to their individual situation, publishers can hire as many K4 workstations, K4 Web Editor licenses, and other system components such as K4 Overview or K4 XML Exporter as their projects, order position, and workload demand. Samsung announces portable PA system with iPod dock
Samsung Technologies (http://www.Samsung.com) has announced the Expedition XP3081, a portable PA system with an iPod docking station. It's designed for traveling performers and presenters and will ship next month. The XP308i comes complete with dual two-way speakers, an on-board mixer and 300-watt power amplifier. Tension Software announces Private Contact 2.1
Tension Software has updated Private Contact (http://pomola.com/products_privatecontact/privatecontact.html) a native Cocoa software to manage an address book in an encrypted form in Mac OS X (10.4 and higher), to version 2.1. The upgrade adds an improved "View" area and fixes some bugs. Witih Private Contact informations inside documents, relative to various persons, can be read only by the Mac owner.
