Phidgets has updated its PhidgetTemperatureSensor for Mac OS X. The

accuracy through the addition of on-board filtering, cold junction

the previous version of the product.
Users can program Phidgets using an application programming interface
(API) supported under Mac OS X. Users can write programs in C, Java,

Western Digital releases Mac compatible WD TV
Western Digital (WD) has introduced a way for consumers to play their
stored digital content on their HDTV in Full-HD 1080p resolution. The
WD TV Media Player connects to a user's TV or home theater and plays
digital movies, music and photos from WD's My Passport portable drive
or other USB mass storage device. The WD TV Media Player is available

According to research firm IDC, nearly 334 million GB of photos and
more than 3.1 billion GB of video will be stored on consumer desktop
and laptop computers in 2008. The research firm expects that to

MacBU gets new general manager
Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit (the MacBU) has announced that
Eric Wilfrid has been named the new general manager of the MacBU.
This change in leadership comes as Craig Eisler has been promoted to
a new role within E&D.
Wilfrid is a 14-year Microsoft veteran who has been with the MacBU
since its inception in 1997 where he most recently was a product unit

NCsoft, a publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online
games (MMOs), has announced a partnership with TransGaming to bring

Fission update adds ability to save iPhone ringtones

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.1, Camera Raw 5.1 updates available
Adobe has released updates to Photoshop Lightroom and the Photoshop
Camera Raw plug-in, both available immediately as free upgrades for
Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS4 users.
The releases provide added raw file support for 15 digital cameras
including the Nikon D90, Nikon D700, Canon EOS 50D and Canon EOS
1000D. The Lightroom 2.1 update also includes improvements to
Photoshop integration, performance with 64-bit Mac OS X 10.5
("Leopard") computers, and Keyword migration from Lightroom.
In addition, Adobe has released a new set of camera profiles

compatible with Absoft's newly released Pro Fortran 10.2, and will be

Absoft is releasing the Xcode plug-in as an alternative to their
multi-platform IDE for Fortran and C++ development. The company says
that Apple's Xcode is excellent for C/C++, but wasn't designed as
Fortran aware, and therefore is limited as a Fortran development

Absoft's Fortran Xcode plug-in adds Fortran functionality, which
allows Absoft's 32-bit and 64-bit Fortran compilers to be used within
