MacPractice EMR updated; adds charge coding, enhanced narrative

MacPractice (http://www.macpractice.com) -- the developer of
MacPractice MD, MacPractice DDS, MacPractice DC, and MacPractice
20/20 -- has announced an update to MacPractice EMR (Electronic
Medical Records). MacPractice MD with EMR is a single-vendor fully
integrated EMR and practice management solution designed for Mac OS
X.

With updated MacPractice EMR, doctors can record patient visits with
procedure code(s) and diagnoses for review by their biller who may
approve and post the charges with a few clicks. This new feature
streamlines communication between billing and clinical areas,
eliminates redundant data entry, and eliminates the necessity for
paper encounter forms, says MacPractice President Mark Hollis.

Patient demographic information and preselected information collected
on a customizable EMR form at a patient visit may be merged into
MacPractice EMR's enhanced narrative report where it can be edited in
a full-featured text editor. A narrative report may be merged into a
pre-defined location in a MacPractice Note template (MacPractice Note
is the full-featured word processor built into MacPractice) by
clicking and dragging. A doctor can automatically generate a letter
and envelope addressed to a referring doctor, for example, properly
associated with a patient's record.

MacPractice EMR for MacPractice MD and MacPractice 20/20 is available
through Dec. 31 for US$3,500 plus $500 annually for support and
updates.
