Stellar launches version 3.5 of Phoenix Mac Data Recovery...
Stellar Data Recovery has launched Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data

Markzware releases PUB2ID V2 for InDesign CS3, CS4
Markzware (http://www.markzware.com), a developer of data extraction
and conversion software and inventor of preflighting, has released an
upgrade to its PUB2ID conversion tool for InDesign CS3 and CS4.
PUB2ID v2 (Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign) is a plug-in that
enables users to convert native-application Microsoft Publisher files
(MS Publisher versions 2002 through 2007) to Adobe InDesign while
preserving the content, as well as the styles and formatting.
The Adobe InDesign user simply clicks on "File" in the toolbar, then
"Open," and selects the Microsoft Publisher file for conversion.
Markzware's PUB2ID v2 is available from Software House International
(SHI), Software Spectrum, Programmers Paradise, MacConnection, CDW

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is US$199 and the upgrade

Feral launches demo download area, debuts new game demos
Feral Interactive (http://www.feralinteractive.com) has launched its
own demo download area and is hosting its own demo server to expand
the reach of its products. In addition, the area launches with a

The site allows consumers to download via BitTorrent or via a direct
download. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing communications
protocol. Users can download the demos using a BitTorrent client
program. If a direct download isn't available yet, it's likely a
brand new demo, and Feral provide a direct link in the near future. A
quick guide to using BitTorrent is available on the site for those
not familiar with the technology.

Apple has introduced the all-new iPod shuffle, the world's smallest
music player at nearly half of the size of the previous model, and

XB Software releases MaxTreeGrid
XB Software has released MaxTreeGrid (http://www.maxtreegrid.com/),
AJAX-backed JavaScript control which allows you to represent data as
tree hierarchy, plain grid or combine both views as treegrid. It
allows data loading from numerous data sources -- from server side
script such as PHP, JSP, ASP, and others, or JS, XML, CSV, JSON, HTML.
Fltering and sorting capabilities are built in in MaxTreeGrid and can
be extended according to customs preferences. According to the folks
at XB Software, the entire grid functionality occupies barely 23
kilobytes (gzip compression).
The component is written in pure JavaScript and doesn't need to
invoke any additional items from a server, which means MaxTreeGrid is
compatible with any server technology. Included in the component are
additional libraries that allow you to link a grid with any
server-side script through any REST-like server side API (application
programming interface).

74% of enterprises with Macs plan to add more
In a survey conducted by the Enterprise Desktop Alliance, 235 of the
314 respondents expect to increase the number of Macs within their
organization. Less than 2% of the responding organizations said they
expected to reduce the number of Macs. The survey also shows that
productivity gains and employee preference are the primary drivers of
enterprises adopting Macs, with lower cost of ownership also playing
an important role.
The respondents were IT administrators, nearly 60% of whom manage 100
or more Macs within a wide range of enterprise class organizations.
Significantly, 91% of the IT administrators indicated that
integration and management parity between Macs and PCs were major
issues of importance to their organization. It is clear that
organizations want to be able to manage all systems and platforms in
one consistent manner.

Intuit says it will soon introduce Intuit Online Payroll

accountants, banks and credit unions. Beginning fall 2009, the
benefits of Intuit Online Payroll will be extended to Mac users with
Safari support and integration with Intuit QuickBooks for Mac.
Mac users will be able to enter employees' hours and with just a few
clicks, according to Intuit. Online Payroll will automatically
calculate earnings, payroll taxes and deductions. In addition, the
offering allows users to print paychecks from their printer, or use
direct deposit.
Intuit Online Payroll instantly calculates federal and state payroll
taxes for the user. It helps keep track of what taxes a user owes and
reminds them when and how much to pay. A small business can write a

Apple has introduced the new Mac Pro using Intel "Nehalem" Xeon
processors and a next-generation system architecture to deliver up to

Apple has updated its iMac and Mac mini desktop lines. The iMac
update doesn't include a quad-core option as many have hoped but does
include a 24-inch iMac that's priced more affordably. There's also a
Mac mini with new integrated graphics.
For the same US$1,499 price as the previous generation 20-inch iMac,
the new 24-inch iMac delivers a 30 percent larger display, twice the
memory and twice the storage, according to Apple. Delivering up to
five times better graphics performance, the updated Mac mini now
features the same groundbreaking Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated
graphics introduced with the aluminum unibody MacBook family.

Adobe has released an update to its Photoshop software, available
immediately for existing Photoshop CS4 users. The Photoshop 11.0.1
update addresses key issues reported by customers that may impact

textures edited by plug-ins; improved quality of Auto-Blend Layers
