FireWire TradeMark Agreement

FireWire

The FireWire Logo is an Apple trademark and must be licensed for use by third-parties. There is currently no licensing fee. The agreement is a 5-page Adobe Acrobat file, and contains all the information and guidelines third-party developers need to license the FireWire Logo for use on product packaging, advertising, and other product marketing materials.

The terms of the License Agreement are non-negotiable.

  1. Download and read the FireWire License Agreement and Guidelines (PDF).
  2. Complete the agreement and mail it to Apple Software Licensing as directed on the form.
  3. Read the statement below, and download the FireWire Trademark artwork (ZIP) files.

Note: By downloading the FireWire artwork, you agree that you will use the FireWire trademark only in conjunction and compliance with a FireWire Trademark Agreement approved by Apple Inc.

FireWire Reference Platform

The FireWire Reference Platform 2.0 is for embedded use in FireWire devices.0 It contains Core Source and Sample Code plus RTL for a 1394b PHY digital core and related test benches that can be used to quickly add high-speed IEEE 1394 Serial Bus to peripheral and consumer electronics products such as digital cameras, set-top boxes, televisions, and music systems.

The FireWire Reference Platform is available for download under an Evaluation License.

FireWire Implementation License

(No Fee)

If, after evaluation, you would like to obtain a license to develop or distribute assemblies incorporating the FireWire Reference Platform or modifications, please download and print this Implementation License, complete according to the attached checklist and mail two original signed FireWire Implementation License (PDF) forms to the Software Licensing address on the checklist. Your license will become effective when signed by Apple.
