Serenade is a desktop MIDI sequencer. A great deal of effort has gone into creating a user interface that gives access to the power of Serenade without making it complex to use. No knowledge of musical notation is required - just connect a MIDI keyboard to your computer via a MIDI card and play. Serenade captures the music ready for editing.

RhythmBed

RhythmBed is a program which lets you create percussion tracks for controlling drum machines directly, for export to sequencers, such as Serenade or for use with your computer's own internal voices.

Percussion tracks are built up using a simple yet powerful grid-editing technique. Rhythm-Bed is primarily a MIDI package for use as a drum machine but it can also access up to eight separate internal voices. RhythmBed is also ideal for primary schools as it allows children to quickly experiment with creating percussion tracks.

Vox Box

This package is a combination of four separate applications. Together they provide a very useful addition to the Rhapsody program, also available from APDL-ProAction.

The four programs are:

• Perform - an application enabling you to play Rhapsody and MIDI files as well as sound samples without the need to have Rhapsody present.
• VoxBeat - an application to turn sampled percussion sounds into a useful module that enables a user without access to a MIDI instrument to obtain realistic percussion accompaniment to his or her score.
• VoxSample - an application to convert sound samples into usable RISC OS voices for use with Rhapsody, Maestro or any other application using voices.
• VoxSynth - an application to synthesise RISC OS voices digitally.
