GeoMACS
A
beam of electrons whose movement across the screen is controlled by magnetic
fields also react to undesirable external magnetic fields. This leads
to colour distortions or excessively dark areas on the screen and makes
professional work with the monitor absolutely impossible.
To avoid these distortions, Mitsubishi Electric developed the GeoMACS technology.
GeoMACS, or "Geomagnetic Measurement And Compensation System", enables the monitor to recognise and automatically compensate for horizontal earth magnetic fields. To this end, the horizontal components of the earth magnetic field are measured by a sensor. A special coil then creates a precisely dosed magnetic field that counters the interfering field and compensates for it. This allows Mitsubishi Electric's monitors to offer a flawless and uniformly white image even in unfavourable locations or in case of rotation.
