Dynamic Beam Forming

Mitsubishi Electric began specialising in the development of the most diverse tube technologies at a very early stage and has regularly improved them. This is shown by the Dynamic Beam Forming Technology, or PNX-DBF Technology, which along with the tension mask is a key element in Mitsubishi Electric's DIAMONDTRON tubes.

DBFWhen the electron beam hits the centre of the tube, a circular spot is produced. If the beam hits the corners or sides of the tube, this spot is elliptical. In comparison, this area is always larger than the circular spot and thus causes neighbouring phosphorus elements to glow. This, in turn, leads to a considerable loss of sharpness. The solution is the PNX-DBF Technology from Mitsubishi Electric. Here the electron beam is formed for each individual image position on the screen so that the spot remains circular. The result is a razor-sharp and constant image definition over the entire monitor surface.
