The few simple machines that you have at your disposal can prove to be
quite effective:

 Catapult:
Attackers can use the catapult to launch explosive barrels to destroy the
defender's ramparts and ballistas. The catapult can also be used to launch
the attackers over the castle walls. |
 Ballista:
Ballistas are the primary defense of the castle. Defender's can use the
ballistas to destroy the attacker's catapults. |
