Registration underway for 2010 MacTech Conference

Registration is now underway for the 2010 MacTech Conference. It's a three-day technical conference designed to raise the level of knowledge for the entire Apple/Mac community.

MacTech Conference for IT Pros and Apple developers will be held Nov. 3-5, 2010, in Los Angeles at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City. The information-packed event will have sessions and activities throughout the day and evening giving attendees the opportunity to not only learn from the best, but also to get to know others in the industry.

"The whole idea of the MacTech Conference is to allow members of the Apple community to meet and exchange ideas," says Edward Marczak, conference chair and Executive Editor of "MacTech Magazine." "This will be spurred on by presentations from some of the best and well-known experts in the community."

The MacTech Conference will have two separate tracks: one focused on IT, and one focused on programming/development. Sessions will focus on both desktop and mobile, with appropriate levels of attention paid to the Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod. Check out the speaker and topic list
(http://www.mactech.com/conference/sessions)
for specific sessions.

The conference will kick off on with a keynote by Andy Ihnatko at 10 am on Wednesday, Nov. 3. "We're thrilled to welcome Andy as our keynote speaker. As an internationally beloved tech journalist (not to mention that he's Chicago Sun Times' Technology Columnist), Andy is insightful, funny, and a pleasure," says Neil Ticktin, Editor-in-Chief/Publisher, MacTech Magazine.

Following will be 2.5 days of solid sessions with lunch and breaks provided. Dinner and evening activities will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 3 and 4. The conference will wrap up on Friday at approximately 1 pm.

Conference attendees won't just be in sessions hearing about great technologies, and products, but MacTech Conference has a packed evening schedule designed not only to be fun, but give you the opportunities to get to know your fellow attendees.

In an impressive coup, attendees will get exclusive time at the Griffith Observatory -- one of Los Angeles' greatest landmarks.  Time at the Observatory will include a planetarium show, a special "behind the scenes" talk on how planetarium animation is created, not to mention a chance to
look through the famous Zeiss telescope on the roof (weather permitting).

On the second evening, attendees will take a walk from the hotel down Universal's CityWalk to Jillian's for dinner. During the event, there'll be the friendly competition of the first MacTech Bowl to raise money for the Griffith Observatory's "School Field Trip" program to educate local 5th graders. Team sponsors make it all possible. Not up for bowling? You can play billiards, video games, or try your hand at our special Guitar Hero room.

MacTech Conference is priced economically at $899 including all meals, a MacTech Magazine subscription, a schedule packed full of sessions, exclusive entertainment, and more. While organizers do expect the conference to sell out, special discount pricing is available for the early
registration at a rate of $699 -- a savings of $200.  Early Bird Pricing is limited to availability, and ends July 22, 2010.  Register at http://www.mactech.com/conference/registration

A limited number of partial and full student scholarships are available. See http://www.mactech.com/conference/student for more information.

The Sheraton Universal Hotel rooms are typically US$229 plus tax per night, and with Internet for an additional fee. However, MacTech Conference attendees are getting a (first-come, first-served) special rate of  $169 per night which includes Internet. Taxes and service charges are extra. Room quantity is limited.
