This is the latest version of the WOPR add-on, for Microsoft Word 97. As with all previous versions, it adds functionality to Word, and is also fun to use. There's a big suite of utilities; some of the most interesting are:
- WOPR Enveloper: print logos, bar codes, graphics and notes on your envelopes, and maintain a customised library of them;
- WOPR 2X4: a multi-page printing facility-print duplex, 2 up, 4 up, tri-fold brochure, and many more;
- WOPR File Manager: makes Word's file manager operate more like WordPerfect's;
- WOPR FileNew: keep track of your templates and use full descriptions for them;
- WOPR Favourites: easy access to all Office documents and Web pages, from your menu.
You won't use all the utilities in WOPR, but those you do use will make your purchase worthwhile.
This is an interesting note-taking program.

Shadow Notes is an excellent free program: it stores your daily notes. The size of each note is only limited to the memory on your computer. Notes may contain text, graphics, and or any OLE object. You can organise your notes into folders, and the folders may be nested within one another - you can even relate notes to other notes to create "threads" of information.
Basically a scratchpad for your computer.

Whiteboard is basically a scratch pad for your computer. You don't need to worry about saving anything you place on Whiteboard, it saves everything on it every five minutes. When you've finished making a note on it, close it-it stays handy in the system tray. Whiteboard is ideal for those notes you want to make while you're working, but are not important enough to save to a file, or to enter into another program.
An interesting goal-setting program, based on a seminar of the same name.

"The Secrets of Mastering Your Destiny" is a goal-setting program with PIM-like features. For example, there's a To Do List, a calendar, and a timer. However, one of the best features is that you can set the program to flash your goals at you, at intervals-which means that there's a fair chance that you'll keep working on your goals, because you're reminded of them. The program is based on a popular seminar of the same name.

If you download files from the Internet, some text files can be so large that they place a strain not only on WordPad, but also on your word processor of choice. UltraEdit is a text editor, with many great features. It has support for unlimited file sizes, a 100,000 word spelling checker, full HEX editing capabilities, configurable syntax highlighting for programmers, and column editing. It handles multiple files, even if they are multi-megabyte files.

Cuisine is the new version of the popular Win Gourmet program. It's a recipe book, a menu planner, and a shopping-list creator, all in one. New features include: multiple cookbooks, so that you can categorise your recipes more efficiently; user-defined categories for recipes; enhanced import/ export facilities, so that you can exchange recipes with users of other popular cooking programs; and enhanced WYSIWYG printing.

ToDoWin is a simple, but powerful, to do list, reminder, and appointments program. One of the program's best features is that not only can you have multiple databases running within the program, but you can also have multiple copies of the program running-this is ideal if you're in charge of a work group and need to keep a record of tasks assigned and completed by others. You can also set applications (such as your backup program) to run at preset times.

Easy Word is a small and simple DOS word processor, but it has some quality features such as spell checking and macros. It's very easy to use, and ideal on your laptop, or on your second machine.
