Expeditor takes the grind out of repetitive online tasks.

This is one of those programs you'll love because it takes the grind out of repetitive tasks, chiefly online tasks, although you can use it anywhere.

It contains two sections: the Editor and the GoTo List. The Editor contains user-defined text that you can insert anywhere simply by double-clicking. The GoTo List is a list of Web sites and e-mail addresses arranged in folders. You can have as many GoTo Lists as you wish. When you double-click on an entry in the GoTo List, it will take you to that Web site, or will let you send a mail message.

Use this program to fill out forms, make submissions, create and send form letters, and surf the Web.

TextPad is an award-winning text editor, with loads of intelligent features. It's available for both Windows 95 and 3.1. The major features include unlimited (up to virtual memory) file size, command shortcut emulations for major word processors, multiple document interface with two views available for each file, drag-and-drop text between files, spell-checking, and keystroke macros.

Enhancements in this new version include: automatic file backups; a Revert command, to revert to the last saved version of the document; word count; a clip library for boilerplate text and HTML tags; save your workspace; visible bookmarks; a built-in file manager; DDE interface to other tools; and a spell-checker with dictionaries in 10 languages.

This program is a powerful icon editor and browser. You can work with icons of 256 colours, edit several icons at once, and have three levels of undo in case you change your mind. The program locates icons in EXE and DLL files, and works with bitmap and RLE formats, as well as accepting icons captured from your screen.

If you're artistically inclined, you can create 3D icons. In addition, the program boasts complex drawing features which are usually only available in high-end drawing programs. A new feature in this update -- you can now create your own animated cursors. A brilliant program for the price.

RapidReader is a speed-reading program suitable for both children and adults. It presents text in two modes, the first where your eyes are trained to assimilate text rapidly without altering focus, and the second where your eyes are trained to scroll text as they do normally, but at higher speeds. You can track your progress with the speed/comprehension tests which are provided: different tests are given for various grade levels. In the registered version, you're provided with documentation on how to create your own tests, and the program operates at higher speeds. The program guarantees that you will learn to read two to three times faster than you currently do.

If you share your computer with others, where do you keep the information that you would rather not share? Classified 97 provides the answer. It's a journal, but it's also a password keeper, an electronic safe, a goal manager -- a place for everything you want to keep secret.

Great features include: the ability to encrypt files created with other programs, enhance your journals with OLE links, access the Web by clicking on inserted URLs, transfer selected information to a 'public' journal, which others can access, and much more. When you create a journal, with its password, you're also asked to insert a question and an answer (for example, what is my dog's name? Rover) for those times when you forget your password.

If you keep the program running in the background, you'll need to provide your password again when you switch to it.

When you're ready to print out your card, choose the size you'd like -- from A6 up to A3 and click Print Now. The resolution of the graphics we printed out were very impressive, although the type of paper you use will possibly vary the quality of the finished product.

However, printing out your card and hand delivering it or sending it through the post isn't the only way you can pass on your greeting. You can send it directly to the recipient via point-to-point e-mail, or send it to American Greetings, who will then print it out on high-quality card stock and mail it for you.

Overall, CreataCard Gold 2 will provide the whole family with hours of fun using the pre-designed collection or designing their own cards and invitations. Highly recommended.

This is the new version of the Above and Beyond Personal Information Manager. It contains many enhancements, including the ability to insert interruptions to your schedule as they occur, so that your timed billings remain accurate, a World Timeline, and an increase in the Item Notes size to 32Kb. The program works in Windows 3.1, 95 and NT. It's the smallest (in program size) and fastest, full-featured PIM available, is completely network-aware, and auto synchs your desktop and notebook machines. If you're on a network, you'll like the e-mail and Meeting Maker features.

Christmas Scenes features several Christmassy 24-bit photographs. These are cycled with transition effects, and a red and green border. If you have a soundcard, you can listen to Christmas carols from MIDI files. Registration adds more images, more carols, and password protection.

Add Christmas spirit to your mailings with this graphics collection. However, you'll find this collection useful right throughout the year, because there are 11 sets in total, including the Christmas set. The small pictures in PCX format look superb, whether enlarged to fill the page, or reduced to use on labels. The collection includes sets of pictures of animals, workers, kids, flowers, and more.

Oasis (OWL Automated Sales and Invoicing System) is an organiser and billing manager for small businesses. It tracks many different types of information -- on your customers, your products, and your receivables. Unlike similar commercial programs, Oasis is easy to understand and to use.

Simply set up your customer profiles, your product information, and start using it to create invoices. Various reports are supported, both to file and to your printer. You can also print labels and envelopes, and manage your mailing list from within the program. Oasis uses standard DBF files, so you can integrate it with your other programs.

You get an expanded feature set when you register.

InfoDex is a simple but powerful flat file database. You can use it to store contact information, equipment data, reference material, customer information, passwords, and more. It features a drag-and-drop layout, sort by any field, add or delete fields easily, search in any field, tag records and much more. You can browse your records, create customised printing options, and print preview. This is the ideal program for you if you need a database, but don't have the time to learn a complicated program.

DOS

If you're looking for something different in clip-art, this program offers a selection of hand-drawn, black and white outdoors images -- perfect for your next newsletter. You can enlarge or shrink the images to suit your needs without discernible distortion. The images are in PCX format.

If you're a puzzle addict, or if you need to create 'fun' pages for your company newsletter, this program is perfect for you. Crossword Power creates and prints both crossword and cris-cross puzzles. All you need to do is supply the words and the clues -- the words are automatically placed into the grid for you. Sample word lists are included, as is a 30-page manual.

OutlinePlus is an integrated outliner and text editor. You can create fast outlines to various depths, adding notes as you go. You can use the program to create plans for your documents and activities, and as a schedular. The program comes with a 55-page manual, completely describing the program and its many uses.
