Battery Died on my system, I replaced it and now I am trying to reload CMOS settings on Intel 486/66, Pheonix Bios, Maxtor 7120A/AT drive.
I have the drive settings from Maxtor but when I finish loading the settings I recieve the floowoing:

120
Maximum 120 Second wait for Controller Ready
Press Spacebar to abort Hard disk installation

(system is searching for the hard drive) about 120 second later this is displayed:

120
Maximum 120 Second wait for Drive 0 Ready
Press Spacebar to abort Hard disk installation

(Then I get this)
122: Hard Drive 0 Failure
0002: No boot Device.

Is this a CMOS settings or Bios issue? A bad controller card? or Incorrect settings..... I am sure of the hard disk settings!

Appreciate an email for advice.....

I did use one called "Disk Manager" to install a 1Gb disk in a laptop that had BIOS entries only for a 40Mb and a 100Mb disk. I bought my copy at a CompUSA store. If you can not find it, try the company's web site: www.ontrack.com

I have an operational Sharp YX-3200 business computer. It states on bootup that it uses Sharp basic B-01 and F-dos v-051. I have no software for it and have been using lines of program as a crude word processor.Has any one heard of the existence of this machine? Any information concerning software manuals etc. would be greatly appreciated.I have been using the rs232 interface that was installed to operate a ancient digital decwriter which recently passed on. Is it possible to use a modern printer with this interface? Thanks again for offering this service.

Jumper settings for IBM PC class machines can be found at:
http://www.can.ibm.com/helpware/switches.html

Remember, true IBM PC's & XT's do not have bios chips, thus no start up
disks exist. All settings are done by switches.

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone give me any information on where to obtain software programs and hardware for the TRS-80 Model II?
Or is there someone who might be interested in purchasing one including the keyboard? It powers up fine and the black and white monitor comes on, but it says there is a boot error (presumably since there is no boot disk).

Any help or suggestions?

Thanks,

I have become the owner of a very old (1986?) box which says PII68 on the front. I downloaded PIICEON's part number search utility in an attempt to determine what this box is, but apparently it only searches recent parts.

On the front of the box is a reset button and indicator lights for Run, halt, Parity Error, and Power. On the rear of the box are twelve RJ-45 connectors, four DB-25 connectors labelled Ports 1 -4, a SASI Port, RCA connectors labelled Video In and Video Out, and a VCR controller connection.

Internally, there is a Micropolis MFM full-height 50-something-Meg disk drive, a mainboard with part number "100660-0001 Rev. E" which is apparently driven by a Motorola 68000P8, and has a daughter board identified as KAM-3.

I would really like to know what the purpose of this device was so I can determine whether I should attempt to use it somehow or strip it for parts. The combination of identifying marks (VCR, internal drive, SASI port, DB-25 & RJ-45 connectors), has piqued my interest.

Anyone know a good source for older (SIPPs) memory?

Also, I just got a large box that looks like some sort of odd hub. Instead of jack connections, it appears that one connects to it through the parallel port. It has many rows of parallel port connections.
It was made by Unisys. Any tips on what it is, how to use it, and where to get drivers would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded my computer to a p200 with 16 megs of RAM. I have everything working but the CD-ROM. I connected the CD-ROM to the secondary on-board IDE controller, set the BIOS to 'CDROM' for that port, and installed a set of generic drivers. No matter what I do, or change, I can't get it to work. The CD-ROM is an old Mitsumi double-speed.

RE: Turq's last post --

I apologize. I meant no disrespect, but it has happened to me about 8 or 9 times since I started hitting this page regularly last August. Just built-up frustration, I guess.

It is a cool hostname, however.

If you can't find any Workbench disks locally, I can try to fire up the A500 and make you a copy. The A2000 traditionally used the C= 1084s monitor, which had built-in speakers. The Amigas had built-in four-channel synthesizers and stereo audio output. Multimedia was developed on the Amiga way before the boys in Redmond started taking credit for it. Do a little experimenting. It's an amazing box.

Thank you to the gentleman who e-mailed me with a reply to my IBM question.

I've got an IBM PS/1 386 sitting here, the sort with DOS
4.0 built into ROM. IBM tech support had a file that explained
how to bypass the ROM and boot a higher version of DOS from
the hard-drive. It requires a file 'CUSTOMIZ.EXE' that orignally
came installed on the computer's drive. The drive of this
machine was wiped, so I do not have the file. It isn't available
for download from IBM's ftp site.. anyone know where I can
get it? For now, to boot DOS 6, the friend I loaned the machine
to, is having to use an awkward key sequence to boot up from
the floppy drive.

OK. Now I have a question.

I was just given an IBM portable (I had to laugh at IBM's original press release which described this solid steel box as 'lightweight'!!!!) that seems to work.

However, when I turn it on, it seems to run through the BIOS ok, and it spins the boot drive, but it won't boot to DOS (I'm using dos 2), it just goes right into BASIC.

Am I missing a trick or is my the head on my boot drive possibly bad?

Thanks.

When you post a question here, using a bogus e-mail address accomplishes nothing. Those of us who read this page aren't going to spam you, and it's frustrating when you type a response out only to have it bounce back the following day as undeliverable.
Anyhow, here's the body of my response to Turq (Lucas?) who wanted info on an Amiga 2000:

Lucas,

Go to the local bookstore and find a copy of 'Amazing Amiga' (I think)
magazine. They have ads from vendors in there who sell replacement mice
and keyboards. You shouldn't need a Kickstart disk as the A2000 had a
hard drive and Kickstart in ROM. Unless your hard drive is missing or
wiped, in which case you'll need a copy of Workbench 1.3 or earlier.

There are several Amiga groups on Usenet that should be able to put you
in touch with the right people. I only have an A500, so I don't have
that much firsthand experience with the A2000.

Good luck. It's still a pretty amazing machine.

I am attempting to upgrade the hard drive in a Laser PAL386SX 16 mhz machine. This brand was carried by Micro Center and Sears stores around 1991. Even after I enter the setup and define the new hard drive (Seagate Model ST3120A) I get a HDD Controller Error. The interesting thing is that I can boot from diskette and then access the drive, but when I run the CMOS diagnostics, it doesn't detect the hard drive.

The Bios is 386-Bios Version 1.5 from Video Technology Info-Tech, LTD.

Any ideas?

Regards to Tandy 1000 SX. Computer does not show a hard drive as being hooked up.
You run setup and install all the setting's and then reboot setting's are gone. Does this computer have any special boards to run the HD and if so where can a new one be found.

I would like to start off by thanking everyone who reads and helps on this page. You have helped me numerous times so THANK YOU.

Now can you please help again?

Yesterday I bought a HP Vectra QS, 386, 42 meg HD, VGA 14" monitor and two drives, 3.5" and 5.25".
I got a really good deal on it because they couldn't get the hard drive to work. I got that to work easy enough.

The problem I am having now is with the Dip switches on the drive controller card, video card, and memory card.

If anyone out there can help me figure out what the different switch settings are I would greatly appreciate it.

I am also looking for some memory. it only came with 640k and I can't run my Turbo C++ without at least 1meg standard and 1meg extended.

Thanks alot everyone.

HELP! I need video-board setup information for an old
Trident/Quadtel SVGA board! It is ISA, 1 MB, the product
model number/name is: TVGA8900C, BIOS version 3.00CL
-- I have the proper drivers, I only need to know how to
setup the JUMPERS. I have many things and expertise I
could give in return! PLEASE, nobody hesitate to respond,
I am desparate to find this information. I don't want to
spend more money yet on another older video card. I am
intending this old system as my last, BEFORE I get another
newer system, video card, etc..

I tried Trident's site to get the drivers, but they only
made the chipset. Quadtel's site I cannot access it. Must
be down. I got the card second-hand, my friend had no
documentation. I am having conflicts with this card and
my (somewhat newer) Packard Bell/AZTEC sound card (a
"Rocky777" model, SB16/Pro compatible). I suspect it is
an IRQ or DMA conflict, seeing as my sound card also has
a 1x Panasonic CR5xx CDROM attached to it. I cannot use
both cards together in the same system, without getting an
AMI POST error (2 short, 5 or 8 long = vid.ram write
failed).

PLEASE HELP, anyone!
My INTERNET E-mail address is: prophet777@hotmail.com
Thank you VERY much!

I have a Compuadd 425tx. The computer works just fine but I cannot use the pcmcia slot. The internal modem is ok but is very very slow. I can't get a pcmcia card modem to work, I keek getting "unable to initialize modem". If anyone has a operations manual or users guide for this computer, let's deal. I know Compuadd is out of busness but if some other company made these machines for Compuadd, I would appreciate the info. Or if I can get a faster internal for the computer, that info would be appreciated also. Thank-you

Thanks to the kind person who emailed me a great site for kaypro stuff (http://oak.oakland.edu/oak/cpm/kaypro-pre.html )
But I still want to know the following:
What speed it the internal modem (Im guessing 300 baud?)
What speed can the serial port run at? (What UART if any is running it?)
What is the fastest modem that I could use with it (external) and is there a terminal program available for the Kaypro 4?

ALSO

I have a wierd "laptop" type thing, somewhat along the lines of the tandy 100, called the Laser PC 4. It is more of a personal digital assistant (PDA) than a PC, really. It's got built in stuff like a scheduler, word processor, address book, phone book (with DTMF autodialer!) etc... It communicates ith a PC thru a parallel port (which can also drive a printer)-- pretty bland but what I'm interested in is the fact that this thing has BASIC built-in. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if its possible to do direct manipulation of the parallel port (I'm not entirely sure its ONLY parallel, its a 15-pin DB style and there's some wierd cables to connect it to the computer or printer- I wouldnt be surprised if theres serial (laptop to computer) AND parallel (laptop to printer) in that connector.) thru PEEKs and POKEs in basic. There was supposed to be a modem in this thing but I hear it never was realized (this info actually gotten over the fone after many attempts)- altho the plastic knockouts for "Phone" and "Line" are clearly visible on the back, there are alas no jacks beneath them. I THINK that there may have been a more expensive model that did have a modem available. Laser is a wierd company (They made IBM clones with no expansion ports and they actually bothered to clone the Apple II I think) that I cant get much info on, so I'd like to chat with anyone whith knowledge on this PC4 or whatever....
THANKS!

I purchased a Compaq ProLinea 3/25s at an auction. The previous
owner formatted the hard drive. No disks or manuals were included
with the computer. I got it home, attached the keyboard, mouse, &
monitor (correctly - thanks to the "in case you're a moron" pictures on the case), plugged in the power cord, flipped the switch to on. Seemed to work except, the keyboard lights light up, went out, & keyboard was gone. Monitor showed 'unable to connect message'
or something and the floppy disk drive sounds like it's working when a disk is inserted (Compaq Tech Support has been terrific!! They provided me with downloads of their original 'Help' files and 'boot' files with instructions), but it isn't recognized. I replaced the mother board with a refurbish board from Reliable Computer Parts, Inc., but have the very same results.
Can anyone help me get this thing working? I bought it to give my sister a as Christmas ('97) present . It's a teenz late; she now thinks
I'm a liar and forgot to get her a anything.

Hello all..... I just picked up a Radio Shack/Tandy Model 200 portable computer. Something lacking that I would like to acquire for it is the DIN-to-telephone jack cable/interface.

Other items that would be nice to have are the User Manual, and extra RAM. Perhaps if I had the user manual I would be able to figure out how to download through a null-modem, or use an external modem. Hmmmm.....

Annd, a question...... Can my main system even use .DO files from the Tandy's "TEXT" apprication? Are they just ASCII files, or some strange format? My main system is a PC Pentium 166 running WIN95 (off the shelf config.)

Any and all help will be _very_ much appreciated, and I'll hope to reciprocate.

I have an old IBM PS/2 Model 70-386. It has a 1.44MB floppy, 120MB HD, 1MB RAM, and an on-board VGA display adapter. The hard drive, floppy, power supply, and RAM is good. A friend of mine brought me an IBM Personal System/2
Model 30 to do kind of an up grade on it. This particular
machine looks exactly like the machine shown on
http://www.ncsc.dni.us/fun/user/tcc/cmuseum/Ibm-pts.htm
However, instead of doing a customary change from dos 3 to
a higher version. I tried a different approach because this
machine only has a 720K drive.
What I did was: I copied my PC dos 6.3 diskettes onto my
modern day computer. Then I recopied the files onto 10 720k
diskettes. I then copied the 10 diskettes onto a directory
on the hard drive of the IBM Personal System/2 Model 30
computer and ran the setup from its hard drive.
I got all the way through the setup without a hitch to the
point where the software tells you to hit any key to
restart the computer. I hit the space bar. However, it
didn't restart the new version of PC dos 6.3. What I got was
a little white blinking line. I take it I did something
wrong??? Anyway, what I'd like to ask: does anyone know of a
way to fix this Boo-Boo? I tried making a few boot disks but
None of them worked. Maybe I need a special type of boot
disk? Anything anyone can tell me will be a big help and
greatly appreciated.

Has anyone ever considered making some sort of archive site
for obsolete computer software? I had thought about doing
it myself, but the web server my site is running on is already
very cranky.

Just a thought. I have 200 5.25" floppies sitting here in boxes

archive. :)

BTW, Windows v1.03 is still available from my web site,
I've decided to keep it up until the end of the week, as
some people have had trouble accessing the site.

Seems I've been led on a wild-goose chase looking for DIP
switch settings on an old video card.

It is the Samsung model SVGA-1 (FCC ID #A3LSVG-1).
This card features Cirrus Logic chips #CL-GD510A and
CL-GS510A.

I got it along with a Magnavox 9CM053 EGA monitor.
Is this one of those EGA/VGA switchable video cards?
If so what are the correct DIP switch settings??

Speaking of monitors, I own a CTX #6468ES SVGA monitor,
for which CTX has no information on in their web site.
Are there drivers available for it so i can have it working
to maximum performance?

Thanks in advance

I have a CompuAdd motherboard:

Pcb# 190395 -003

It has a Chips chipset and currently sports the 486-DLC
upgrade. I need to know how to turn off the on-board serial
& parallel ports as I don't have the cable set. Alternatively,
if you have the pinout for the "I/O connector" header,
I suppose I could kludge up a cable.
I would prefer to just disable them and use a
multi-i/o card instead.

Thanks in advance.

Where does one buy obsolete versions of operating

And what about GEOS - I've been told by someone who uses
it that it would be great on one of my 8088 machines
instead of DOS - but where can I get it?

Hoping someone can help me with installing cache on a 486. All the 486 boards I've seen have nine 28 pin sockets and one 22 or 20 pin socket but mine. All ten sockets are 28 pin.

The manual tells me that SRAM is used and the max external cache is I can have installed using these ten sockets is 256k. I've scrounged up both 28 & 22 pin chips hoping to use for this "project".

I'd appreciate any ideas on what I should try. Thanks.

Hello--

I recently acquired a Bondwell B310A manufactured 08/90.
(Serial #B310a-017531) Only 1MB RAM installed; I'd be
interested in finding another 1MB board--for less than
the original ~$500!

It has a massive 40MB HDD (with blindingly fast 25msec
av seek time!). This was a high-end machine in it's day.

It came to me with a paper copy of the User's Manual,
and the Read Me First pamphlet. I'd be glad to copy these
and snail mail the copies to fellow hobbyists
at cost ($5.00).

I'd like to reconfigure this ol' beastie as an e-mail client
and news reader; has anyone suggestions as to TCP/IP, mail,
and news proggies that might run well on this system
under MS-DOS 3.3?

Perhaps it's possible to upgrade to a higher DOS?
The BIOS is "Award Modular 286 BIOS", no serial# I can find.
The Award Bios webpage is not real helpful- to paraphrase
-"some early bioses not upwardly compatible with some later
DOSes", but they don't get into specifics. Advice in this
area would be appreciated.

Looking for a source for a nice 9600 modem with acoustic
coupler; any suggestions? Good used is fine.

I have a few items to swop--3.5 FDD, reference materials,
a Buffalo Box networking card, stuff like that.Little cash!

Here's to fixing up old 'ware and keeping it in use.

I have 2 Zenith laptops (like the ones in the computer museum in the second picture). They both work. One has a 40Mb HD, 640K memory, 2 working batteries, wall adapter and charger, and win 3.0 and dos 5.0. The other has 2 floppy drives (720K 3 1/2") one working battery, and boot disk. They both work well, and are in good condition. I am asking $40.00 for the one w/ the HD and 2 batteries, and $30.00 for the one w/ one battery, and no HD. A friend of mine has several AT&T PC 6300s for which I created a boot disk with DOS 6.22 instead of DOS 3.3(?). One of them booted successfully; however, I later found out that its 20MB hard drive was not working. Other AT&T PCs which he had with working hard drives would not boot from my bootable 360K floppy but another PC portable was
able to boot successfully showing "Starting MS-DOS" message.
Can the ROM BIOS on the AT&T PC 6300 be upgraded with a different chip? The computer was originally manufactured by Olivetti in Italy. Someone at NCR told me that it would not take a later version of DOS, but it would run WINDOWS version 1.0. I would like to be able to do at least DIR/S and be able to see a listing of files in a subdirectory rather than only files in the current directory.
Help, please!
Has anyone successfully upgraded to DOS 5.0 or later?

Ok, here's a repost of a previous ad for FREE manuals, with revisions:

I have two manuals that are hard to come by that someone may want. They are FREE to a good home for the cost of $5 each for the mailing.

* Epson Equity 1+ User's Guide and Diagnostics AND the Epson Equity + MSDOS 3.20 Manual. They go as a set and your only cost is the mailing fee of $5.

* Wyse 6000i Series Installation and Assembly Manual (Use Guide). Also free except for the $5 mailing fee.

I NEED THESE OUT OF MY WAY!!! If you want one or both of these I need to get a FIRM answer from you by 2/20 or they'll be in my next batch of stuff to fill holes in the ground and gone forever. Once I get a firm resonse from someone I'll need a money order in the mail quick to insure that you want them. No COD's-period.

I have a Tandy 1000tl with a 20 MB Western Digital IDE HardCard. The hard drive itself is the type with a stepper motor to run the heads, and it is VERY slow. It is a 286 with a clock speed of 12 mhz, but it seems to run slower than my 8088 with a clock speed of 8mhz. I have been told that this compuer is an XT, and can only support the smaller 20 MB drives. I really don't need a larger drive, but I would like one that has a faster access time (maybe one without a stepper motor). If anyone has a drive that will work in this computer, or can tell me where to get one, I would appreciate the help.

to fill up an entire bank. I would rather add just an ISA board
with memory already on it. I have the setup disks for it, and
believe I can get it to recognize the new memory. I just would
like to know where I can get some from.
thanks

I have a Tandy 2100 which is a 486sx that I am trying to install Windows 95 on. My problem is that no matter what it comes up with a boot sector virus and will not let me install. I have not been able to find an antivirus software that shows any virus at all. I have formated the harddrive and still have the same problem when i try to install 95. I talked to a technician friend of mind who says he remembers that the older tandys had a problem with the boot sector.

Any help??
Thanks in advance..

XT's do not (repeat do not) have configurable BIOS'es. You have to do the configuration by means of (a) switch block(s) on the systemboard.
If you have a real IBM XT, I can supply you with the information you need.
Tell me 'off-list',

A friend of mine recently purchased a Talcon (was Notestarr) NP-942 notebook (486 25 Mhz cirex SLC)with 2 MB RAM. He obviously wants to upgrade this to at least 8 MB. The manual says he'll need "zipdram" memory and can put in 256 KB or 1 mb per 10 pin contact. Does anyone know if this is a sensible thing to do and if so, where one can find this kind of memory upgrade? Thanks, Frank

* Manual for Epson Equity 1+ titled User's Guide and Diagnostics

* Tandy/Radio Shack TRS-80 model 4 - will part out or sell whole but not guaranteed since it needs some work.

Prices? The books are free but I have to get $5 for throwing and fondling (shipping and handling) on each for the postal service. The TRS-80 depends on what you need and we work out. Contact me by email on either as I need the space and I'm sure someone needs these.

A friend of mine has a Goldstar GS310, a 386 from 1991.

hangs. On the systemboard there is an eight position DIP-switch.
Anybody out there knows where this is used for ?

I have a TRS-80 Color Computer 2, with a connector that connects to a standard tape player to save programs on a Tandy Data Tape (similar to an audio tape). When I write a program, and save it on tape, like it says in the manual, the tappe turns on, runs, then stops. When I rewind the tape and try to reload the program, It will usually work, but sometimes it tells me that there is an I/O error. I am wondering if there is any way to hook up a disk drive (or even some type of hard drive) to this computer. There is a four-pin serial I/O port (round) on the back of the computer. If a disk can be connected, I'm guessing that this is where it would be connected to. If anybody has anyone has a disk drive that they want to sell, or knows where to get one, or just has any information on how to hook one up, let me know.
Any information will helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

I have a rather old Nokia Alfaskop desktop computer I want to use for some SMPTE synchronization in my homestudio.

There are several drawbacks with this model; 64k cache... dx 33 processor.

Well, I,ve located some jumpers on the mainboard (placed onto some weird isa-slot card) but I can't seem to figure out how I can put in my DX 50 processor and configuring the mainboard to run at that speed. And I have some cache that I may would want to add...

Does anybody has a list on what those jumpers do and how I can make them work for me?

repair for laptop notebook: ibm; ambra; nb9800d; 386
in beginning, on-off switch was not making connection on first try. for
awhile, pushing button several times in succession would engage power
.now, this does not (usually) work.
however, if left on, after several hours, machine would finally boot.
soon,
screen would turn black. pushing "enter" would bring back screen image.

but then, program would soon freeze and mouse pointer would not move.
control-alt-delete would end
freeze, system would reboot, and of course, recent data input would be
lost. lately even this does not work. when screen goes black, only
"dc/bat" and "turbo" lights remain "on". can this computer be rescued?
If
yes, at what cost? thank you. sandra

I have 2 old portable computers. One is a Sharp PC-7000 from 1985, and the other is a Toshiba T3100/20 form 1987. The Sharp is an 8086, and runs off of 2 5.25" floppies. The Toshiba is an 80286, and had a 20 MB hard drive, which has long since died and has been removed, and still has a 720K 3.5". Both computers work. I am selling the Sharp for $30, and the Toshiba for $60. I will also trade for an old, but working laptop. Let me know if you're interested. Prices are negotiable.
I am also looking to buy old laptops (286 or lower). Let me know if you have one that you wish to sell I will pay up to $20 for an 8088, and $30 for an 80286.

Don't everyone yell at me at once for posing this question here but I've tried asking on every other message board without success. I have an old Brother WP-75 with a 240K disk drive. I need to know if there are any conversion programs out there to format my WP disks into a format my PC can read? I am desperate to find a way since I have dozens of disks with information and no way to print it out because the built in printer is broke. Otherwise, the WP works fine. Can any one tell me how or where I can find such a program or is it hopeless? I don't want to have to rewrite them all! It'll take ten years!
I'm computer illiterate so use words that a child could understand. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I have no idea what Is going on with this thing. First the CMOS went out, then the video card stopped working, Now this. If anyone out there has any experience with these computers, Get in touch.... Looking for SIPP memory modules for laptop computer.
I own a Notebook (brand name) 3500c Computer with 4mb ram and a 486DX-33 cpu.

Do you know of any? Exact requiements are SIPP/80 nanoseconds of faster.

Hopefully someone can help me. I recently acquired an OLD IBM--- PC/AT Model 5170. Of course, it's long since lost it's CMOS. After hooking one of it's 5.25 floppies up to my pentium, and downloading a cmos setup utility, I can't for the life of me get the hard drive to work. It spins up, and seems operational, but I don't have a clue as to the disk type. Any info would be appreciated, I've searched the web for specs on this particular drive, with no luck. This seems to have been a fairly souped-up system in it's day, so I think it's a fairly large drive, relatively speaking, of course.

Anyways, here are the numbers listed on the hard disk itself:
090685-ESP125-0665-38
B1-431-017434
100314050
046493838

I do appreciate any help anyone can offer. I have looked high and low, and can't find a single spec on this drive.

I have a Tandy 1000TL with a 286/12 mhz processor, 20 MB hard drive, 3.5 & 5.25" floppies. I have Windows 3.0 installed on it, but can't run it in sdandard mode. There is a memory expansion card in it. The card was manufactured by Progressive Computer Products, and the model is EMS 5150tl (I think). It has 84 sockets for RAM chips, and 24 are filled. When I boot the computer whith the card, it says: Memory Size=768k. When I boot without the card, it says the same thing. I can't seem to access the memory on the card. When I run MSD with and without the card, it had the same memory listings. Do I need a special driver to access the memory on the card, or isn't it a memory card? When I run the XMS driver (HIMEM.SYS) needed for Windows, says: Installed A20 handler 1, it then beeps and says that it can't enable the A20. Do I need a special XMS driver that can be used for a Tandy?
ANY info on this will help.
Thanks,
Jason

Help need monitor specs for IBM 8508.
I have 2 19" 8508 monichrome monitors that I would like to use.
I need the Hor and Vert refresh rates as well the resolutions

And I would like to know which video cards drove those monitors.

I have an Epson Equity II which has lost its CMOS. It is a 286. Does anyone have an idea how to restore the CMOS. What keys are involved?

I'm looking for some information on Epson Equity's. I frequently work on a lot of them at school, and I am seeking information on how to enter the BIOS setup screen (heck, if there even is anything selectable) I've tried the standard key combos I can think of, but to no avail. These are all Equity's (I+'s, II's, IIe's you name it, I've seen it.) Anyone with any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
