GIF animations

Here we show you some of the things that are possible with Animated GIF files. If you miss some of the effects and want to see them again, select the Reload option. If your graphics are cached, empty your Memory and Hard Disk caches first - in Netscape 3 use Options, Network Preferences, Cache.

This is the animated flag graphic - you'll find step-by-step instructions for creating it in January's magazine.

This is one way of getting around the fact that some browsers do not support the LOWSRC attribute. A small low resolution graphic of a parrot is loaded and then replaced with a larger, high resolution graphic.

This is a similar solution to the one above, only this time the low resolution graphic is the same width and height as the higher resolution one. The file size is slightly larger as a result but the effect is similar.

This is a version of the PCUser logo which we have made fade in and out of focus.

This is a graphic which looks like a ticker tape.
