GIF animations
Here we show you some of the things
that are possible with Animated GIF files. If you miss
some of the effects and want to see them again, select
the Reload option. If your graphics are cached, empty
your Memory and Hard Disk caches first - in Netscape 3
use Options, Network Preferences, Cache.
This is the animated flag graphic
- you'll find step-by-step instructions for creating it
in January's magazine.
Click
on thumbnail to view Parrot1.gif (21Kb) graphic.
This is one way of getting around the fact that some
browsers do not support the LOWSRC attribute. A small low
resolution graphic of a parrot is loaded and then
replaced with a larger, high resolution graphic.
Click
on thumbnail to view Parrot2.gif (29Kb) graphic.
This is a similar solution to the one above, only this
time the low resolution graphic is the same width and
height as the higher resolution one. The file size is
slightly larger as a result but the effect is similar.
This is
a version of the PCUser logo which we have made fade in
and out of focus.
This is a graphic which looks like a ticker
tape.
