Spoofing

Some sites check to see what browser you are using before loading any pages. Normally this is to allow the site to load one set of pages for Netscape Navigator, another set for Microsoft Internet Explorer, and perhaps another set for all other "Mozilla" compatible browsers.

iBrowse enables you to attempt to access such sites by spoofing (masquerading) as a "Mozilla" compatible browser.

Normally iBrowse announces itself to the world as:

    IBrowse/2.0 (AmigaOS 3.1)

When spoofing is enabled it appears to be:

    Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win98; I) (Compatible IBrowse/2.0 (AmigaOS 3.1))

Be warned that simply enabling this option will not guarantee that a site will load properly. There are some very arrogant webmasters out there who think the only browsers in the world are developed by Netscape and Microsoft.TOP
