Hi, welcome to my Astrid Lindgren appreciation site! As a child, I used to spend hours reading her books, and I still remember the great Pippi Longstocking movies I used to watch on TV. Recently, I have rediscovered her work, and with them all the fun I had reading and imagining the stories. One of the main reasons that have motivated me to dedicate this web site to her and her characters is to give others the opportunity to (re)discover Astrid Lindgren and (re)explore her world(s). P.S.: I have been really busy this year and struggling to do everything, including answering all your e-mails as quickly as possible. A million apologies for not being able to update this website, but I am hoping to come back to this once things have quieted down a bit. Meanwhile, I have created a Message Board for anyone wishing to talk to other Astrid Lindgren fans, ask questions or write something. I hope this makes the experience 'somewhat more' interactive. A lot of people have been asking and looking for the English out-of-print books, especially "The Brothers Lionheart". I have e-mailed Raben & Sjögren for the permission to include the complete English translation but have yet to receive a reply. Since then, I have said here that I would retype the complete version of one of her best works, however, another fan has (correctly) pointed out the legal implications to me. Hence, I will refrain from doing this and only hope that at least some may be re-published in English some day. (March 7, 1999)
