What I Wanted to Say...

Everytime I read about the time when Pippi, Tommy and Annika played "Don't touch the floor" game or when the children of Bullerbü were inventing yet another game, I think back about the time when my family and I lived in a house with an old, wooden attic, filled with many many mattresses and pillows. Me and my friends used to build mazes out of them, playing tag there, laughing so hard that we were afraid that one of my friends would pee in her pants. Or stacking the mattresses into one big pile, sitting on top of it, eating raw potatoes and imagining that we were princesses, sleeping on a pea. Or we would lay them out in the corners and spend the whole afternoon reading and eating junk food.

I just recently found a farm in the middle of my city, right across the oldest cemetary. We had a picnic right in front of the farm, then walked through the farm to say hello to all the animals there. Then we took a slow walk through the old cemetary to read the inscriptions and to try to imagine who those people were whose name and dates we read. Afterwards, we went to a tiny little teahouse for (you guessed it!) tea and more. What a wonderful day!
