Yojimbo information manager for Mac OS X updated to version 2.0

Yojimbo information manager for Mac OS X updated to version 2.0

Bare Bones Software has announced the release and immediate
availability of Yojimbo 2.0, a significant upgrade to the popular,
easy-to-use information organizer. Yojimbo 2.0 makes it easier than
ever to add and categorize, plus search for and retrieve information
items.

"Yojimbo 2.0 makes it even easier to capture information items, which
is hard to imagine, but true," said Rich Siegel, founder and CEO of
Bare Bones Software. "The Tag Explorer provides a major new interface
for working with tags, which are the primary organizational mechanism
for many people. The new Quick Input Panel represents a remarkable
advance forward. Every addition in Yojimbo 2.0 contributes to the
quest for a digital junk drawer that is powerful yet effortless to
use."

Yojimbo 2.0 introduces a Tag Explorer system which lets users
navigate the contents of the Library or of Collections by selecting
tags which reveal related items. The Tag Explorer filters items based
on the selected tag, and simultaneously further refines available
tags.

Tagging in Yojimbo 2.0 is more flexible than ever with new commands
for adding, removing and setting the tags for selected items. A tag
collection can now match items which have "any" of the specified
tags, or which have "all" of them.

Yojimbo 2.0's enhanced Quick Input Panel accepts dragged images, sets
'date imported,' intuits titles for untitled URLs, and supports
assigning more metadata to items when they're created, including
Flagged status, Comments and Labels. The enhanced 'Save PDF to
Yojimbo...' command now allows specification of a name, Tags, Flags,
Label and Comments for the item.

Yojimbo 2.0 introduces a "New Image" command with corresponding input
sheet that allows previewing and direct import of images.

An enhanced search field now offers completions for Tag and Label
names. A new "Clear Highlighted Search Terms" option clears search
terms highlighted by doing a content search, or using spotlight.
Yojimbo 2.0 now retains the previous sort order and remembers which
items were selected for each collection.

Double-clicking on an item in the Drop Dock now reveals the item in
the main window. Yojimbo 2.0 now allows application of Labels and
Tags to items with a simple drag and drop. Yojimbo 2.0 makes it easy
to add any Collection to the Drop Dock.

Yojimbo 2.0 also includes fixes to reported issues and significant
refinements to this popular, easy-to-use information organizer.
Detailed information on all of the changes and improvements
implemented in Yojimbo 2.0 can be found at

Yojimbo 2.0 is a Universal application that requires Mac OS X 10.5.7
or later, and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Bare Bones Software today also released Yojimbo 1.5.2, a maintenance
update that addresses reported issues. This update is recommended for
all Yojimbo customers whose systems do not meet the requirements for
Yojimbo 2.0 or who do not wish to upgrade. The Yojimbo 1.5.2 update
