WIBU-KEY: Ready for Mac OS X!

Karlsruhe, 01-08-2001. WIBU-SYSTEMS, one of the worldwide leading
manufacturers in the copy protection and license management for software
industry, announced the new Macintosh Driver v3.0 to support Mac OS X,
Apple's next generation operating system.

"Mac OS X's advanced technologies and incredible stability will make it
very popular with professionals, who will use WIBU-KEY's universal copy
protection and license management tool because of its new drivers for Mac
OS X," said Oliver Winzenried, C.E.O of WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. "We will show

OS X is the best operating system we've ever created, with advanced
Internet and graphics technologies, a new user interface named Aqua, and an
open-source UNIX-like foundation," said Clent Richardson, Apple's vice
president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "We are thrilled that companies
like WIBU-SYSTEMS are developing innovative products for Mac OS X." The new
Macintosh driver version 3.0 will be available when Mac OS X ship in early
2001, and will facilitate all Macintosh developers secure software
protection using the copy protection system WIBU-KEY. The new functions of
WIBU-KEY are inside the newly developed driver and will be available for
both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X (CFM and Mach-O). This driver will be 100%
identical with the v3.0 Windows drivers and offers thus the same functions
as under Windows. WIBU-SYSTEMS is the unique software protection
manufacturer providing a USB hardware for platform independent usage on the
PC, the Macintosh and heterogeneous networks.

Encrypting and decrypting software is done via the WIBU-BOX/U for the USB
interface and is easy to use and free of problems for the user. The license
management is also done via the WIBU-BOX, which determines the maximal
number of the licenses. Other features are pay-per-use or remote
programming.
