VVI Releases Vvidget User for Mac OS X

VVI Releases Vvidget User for Mac OS X

PRESS RELEASE

State College, PA USA, 9 April 2003:VVI(R) today announced public
availability of Vvidget User(TM) version 8.4.3 for Mac OS X. John Brilhart,
Chief Technical Officer of VVI, made this statement:

"Vvidget User includes several major components: A draw tool specialized to
laying out 2D graphs, a preconfigured web graphing server, an Interface
Builder palette for simple charts, two strip chart applications for
plotting CPU and network performance in realtime, and an online user
manual. This is the first public release of these tools since Apple shipped
them in 1997 bundled with their own products. In the last six years these
tools have undergone significant restructuring so we could support them for
the current version of Mac OS X. The result is, I think, a very impressive
foundation for a present product offering and also for significant growth
in the future."

John adds: "Although we have been continuously developing and selling the
Vvidget-Pro version for twelve years, this is just the start of the
Vvidget-User version. We intend to support and upgrade it aggressively,
just as we have the Vvidget-Pro version, in order to achieve the best
product possible for our customers. For that purpose we are providing
Vvidget User as a download, with an introductory discount, and plan a
follow-up free upgrade at the end of June.

We have also listened very closely to concerns regarding price and
availability. Vvidget User is $89 for commercial users, $49 for student
users, and the Interface Builder palette version for programming is free of
royalty charge for both types of users. In order to support the development
community and to aggressively add new functionality to the palette version
we have added an optional support plan for $149 per year which includes
standard updates to the palette version."
