Trolltech launches worldwide Qt/Mac developer contest
Win great prizes for Qt applications on the Mac

OSLO and PALO ALTO, January 7, 2004. Trolltech=AE today announced a worldwid=
e
contest for Mac=AE developers. The contest is for the best commercially
developed and free software from thousands of talented software application
developers worldwide. The purpose of the contest is to increase the number
of applications on Mac OS X=AE, and to show the potential of Qt=AE on the Ma=
c
platform.

Eligible entries can be any English language version of a software
application developed using Qt/Mac 3.3 on Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
Application entries are divided into three categories:

1. Best Original Free Qt Application
Individual/community developed application using the Qt/Mac Free Edition

2. Best Ported Free Qt Application
Individual/community developed application originally written with Qt/X11
Free Edition for UNIX=AE/Linux=AE and ported to Mac OS X using the Qt/Mac =
Free
Edition

3. Best Original Commercial Qt Application
Individual or company developed application using the Qt/Mac Professional or
Enterprise Edition

The contest winners will be awarded with iPods=99and a chance to win a Power
Mac G5. For each category, first prize will win a 40GB iPod and the runner
up will win a 20GB iPod. Deadline for submitting applications is 6:00 p.m.
PST, May 7, 2004. An overall winner of the contest will also be selected and
receive a Power Mac=AE G5!

The contest is open to individuals who are independent software developers
and to software companies. Individual developers may enter works created
individually or in collaboration with other eligible contestants. The
winning entries will be announced in connection with Apple's Worldwide
Developer Conference 2004.
