Runtime Revolution Press today announces the imminent publication of
"Revolution: Software at the Speed of Thought, Volume 1" by
software-development expert Dan Shafer. The ebook version will ship on
Monday, 3rd of November. A free sample chapter is available for for
download from (http://www.runrev.com/revpress) from now until the
publication of the printed edition.

Authored with the needs of all developers - from novice to expert - in
mind, the book is written in a humorous, approachable, and conversational
style. This book is the first volume of a projected three-volume series,
which will take developers from the basics to the most advanced aspects of
Revolution.

Revolution's user-centric approach to software development brings the power
of an advanced, multi-platform development tool to programmers and authors
at all levels of expertise. "I believe writing software should be easy. My
book and Runtime Revolution make that possible," said Shafer. "I've used
countless languages and developer tools, and written books about most of
them, but Revolution is my platform of choice."

Volume 1 introduces the Revolution development environment, the Transcript
programming language, and how to quickly build professional applications in
Revolution. Using the same interactive style that made him the best-selling
author with over sixty titles to his name, Dan explains how the rich
feature set of Revolution works, with clever, easy-to-understand examples.
Even the more complex aspects of Revolution development are explained in an
accessible style that's understandable for everyone.

"This book is the perfect companion to Revolution," said Kevin Miller, CEO
of Runtime Revolution. "It's written in a clear, easy-to-understand style.
This book makes developing software in Revolution even easier! We're
thrilled Dan chose us to publish it."
