Python Bootcamp

Python Bootcamp

Atlanta, GA - August 16, 2006 - Don't Hiss out on Python Bootcamp,
November 13-17, 2006

Big Nerd Ranch, Inc. announced today the newest addition to the fall
lineup of training courses for developers and system administrators,
Python Bootcamp, scheduled for November 13-17, 2006. The class, which
provides the most comprehensive instruction in one of the fundamental
languages in the programming arena, marks the return of instructor
Mark Lutz. As one of the premier figures in the Python community,
Mark has built an impressive resume as the author of a number of
textbooks in Python including Learning Python and the O'Reilly books
Programming Python and Python Pocket Reference. Additionally, Mark
has been teaching Python classes since 1997 and has established star
status in the Python community as a trainer, writer, and software
developer. His keen insight and extensive field background converge
to make him an ideal instructor in one of the most sought-after
languages in web, GUI and command-line application development.

The five-day class is content-rich with a nearly exhaustive approach
to Python coding. While students are not required to be familiar with
Python at the outset, some previous experience in a scripting
language helps with the learning curve. The class is broken down into
a number of digestible units, with key emphasis placed on major
topics such as:

Using the Interpreter
Types, Operators and Basic Statements: numbers, strings, syntax,
expressions, printing loops and more Functions
Modules
Classes
Exceptions
System Interfaces and GUI Programming
Extending and Embedding Python in C/C++

"It's easy to lose sight of fundamentals when discussing the latest
cutting-edge innovation in coding and development. While new
languages emerge onto the scene with a lot of hype and people
flocking to get in on the latest hip trend, the serious programmer
must also have a firm grasp of the core languages that pervade key
industries," commented Aaron Hillegass, Big Nerd Ranch founder. "It
is great to see the popularity of a powerful language like Python
growing at such an astonishing rate. It forms an integral part of
industry standard-bearers like Google, Hewlett Packard, Pixar, and
NOAA, to name a few. Students who attend Python Bootcamp will emerge
poised to be a major player in nearly any major market."
