Parallels Desktop Update Release Candidate 2

Parallels Desktop Update Release Candidate 2 Compatible with Mac Pro
and iMac, Core 2 Duo Intel Macs Outfitted with Any Amount of RAM

Enables Mac Pro and Core 2 Duo iMac users to work with Parallels
Desktop without any system modification.

RENTON, WA. - September 28th, 2006 - Parallels announced today that
it is releasing the Update Release Candidate 2 (RC2) for Parallels
Desktop for Mac, the first solution that enables users to run Windows
and other operating systems at the same time as OS X on any
Intel-powered Mac, without re-booting.

The Update RC2, which is free for all Parallels Desktop users,
improves support for the recently released quad-processor Mac Pro
towers and Core 2 Duo iMacs by enabling users working with these
machines to use Parallels Desktop with any RAM configuration,
including Mac Pro towers equipped with up to 16GB of RAM, without
modifying their systems. Previous versions of Parallels Desktop for
Mac were compatible with Macs outfitted with 2GB of RAM or less, with
the Release Candidate including a utility that helped users configure
Mac Pro towers and Core 2 Duo Macs with more than for 2GB of RAM to
work seamlessly with Parallels Desktop.

"Through our active engagement with the Mac community, we knew that
the ability to work on Mac Pro towers and the new line of Core 2 Duo
iMacs with more than 2GB of RAM was a 'must have' feature. As always,
we listened and immediately began working to make that happen," said
Benjamin Rudolph, Marketing Manager, Parallels. "The result of that
relationship is Desktop Update RC2, which ensures that any user
working with any Intel-Mac configured with any amount of RAM can
easily run Windows and OS X simultaneously, without any system
modifications."

Users can download the RC2 Update of Parallels Desktop at
www.parallels.com/en/download/desktop/update/. Active Parallels
Desktop users should note that upgrading will not require a
re-install of any guest operating systems or any applications. Users
should also re-install Parallels Tools after upgrading to the Update
Release Candidate 2.

The final release of the Update is expected in the next few weeks.
Users who have Parallels Desktop auto-update enabled will receive the
final update automatically. Users who do not have auto-update enabled
will be able to manually download the update by clicking "Check for
Updates" in the "Help" tab of the Parallels menu bar.

New users can download a free 15-day trial version of Parallels
Desktop at www.parallels.com/en/download/desktop/. Full versions of
the product can be purchased at www.parallels.com/en/buyonline, or in
any Apple Store, Staples, Office Depot, Micro Center, Fry's
Electronics, or CompUSA location. The Suggested Retail Price (SRP)
for Parallels Desktop is $79.99.
