PANTONE ColorWeb Pro Brings the World's Color Standard To Apple's
Revolutionary New Operating System

NEW YORK - July 17, 2001 - Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and
provider of professional color standards for the graphics, fashion,
interior and industrial design industries, today announced at MacWorld
Conference & Expo its support for Apple's Mac OS X. Pantone has released a
beta version of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro that provides for system-level
support that takes advantage of the new architecture and features of Mac OS
X. ColorWeb Pro provides Web authors and others the RGB values for the
PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM, the international standard for color
communication.

The beta version and the upcoming release of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro 2.0
underscore Pantone's ongoing commitment to the design community to deliver
color solutions for print and Web media. The beta release is limited to
supporting the 147 new colors of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM introduced
last year. The new colors are the result of years of research, and reflect
input from design and print professionals, as well as color trends. The
beta release of ColorWeb Pro for OS X will be available for a limited time
as a free download from the Pantone Web site: www.pantone.com/apple

The full version of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro 2.0 for Mac OS X will be available
in fall 2001 and will include support for the entire 1,114 PANTONE MATCHING
SYSTEM Colors.
