award-winning line of Mercury On-The-Go ultra portable, totally bus-powered

WOODSTOCK, IL (July 25, 2006,) - Technology solutions provider Other World
Computing (OWC) today announced the brand new introduction and immediate
availability of a 'Add Your Own SATA Hard Drive Kit' version of its
award-winning, ultra-portable, totally bus-powered FireWire + USB 2.0
Mercury On-The-Go 2.5" Portable Storage Solutions, with an introductory
price of less than $90.

OWC Mercury On-The-Go 2.5" Portable Storage Solutions measure only 3"L x
5.5"W x 1"H and weigh less than 11 ounces even once the hard drive
mechanism is installed, allowing maximum storage and portability in the
smallest ultra-portable package possible. Solutions are bus powered without
external power requirements and bootable via FireWire and/or USB 2.0
interfaces. The rugged exterior case and built-in shock protection ensure
maximum data protection.

The new SATA Kit version of the pocket-sized On-The-Go, priced at only
$89.99, features the high performance engineering of the Oxford 924 chipset
with one USB 2.0 and two FireWire 800 connections. FireWire 800 is
backwards compatible to FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 is backwards compatible to
USB 1.1 allowing the On-The-Go to interface with virtually any Mac, PC, or
Linux system.

The new Add Your Own SATA Hard Drive Kit version of the On-The-Go enables
the use of SATA technology to gain in data transfer rate and improve
cabling performance. SATA technology can ideally support bandwidth
necessary for audio and video. An aluminum heatsink and pass-through
cooling vents allow for silent operation and cool drive temperature.

MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini Intel owners can upgrade their existing
stock 2.5" SATA hard drive to a new high capacity 160GB or 120GB HD from
Other World Computing and utilize the existing factory drive for the SATA
On-The-Go Kit to create an ideal external storage solution.

All Mercury On-the-Go Solutions come packaged with all necessary Connecting
Cables, Carrying Case, an optional use AC Power Adapter, and a One Year OWC
Warranty.
