Opera Eases Migration From IE; Exposes Power Features to Developers
Oslo, Norway - July 13, 2004 - Opera Software's browser has long been
recognized for its speed and inventiveness, with Opera having driven
browser innovation over the last few years. To assist the Microsoft
Internet Explorer users in search for a better browser, Opera Software
today released a series of one-click setups that instantly change Opera's
toolbars, menus, keyboard shortcuts, and mouse gestures, one of which
emulates an IE-like look and feel. With this, migrators from IE have an
even easier start on a more advanced Web browsing application.
"Opera is not only the fastest browser on Earth, but the most customizable
browser on Earth," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "We are
doing everything we can to encourage people to move on to more advanced
technologies with a simple start in Opera, offering them the sort of
settings that they are accustomed to before they dive in to everything
Opera offers. There should be no learning curve for Web surfers wanting a
better Internet experience."
Opera users can download the new setups to apply browser settings
characteristic of IE, Firefox, Safari, and an advanced developer's edition.
