OpenBase Developer Alliance

OpenBase Developer Alliance

OpenBase Developer Alliance gives developers a competitive edge with new
"royalty-free" embedded license programs.

Enhanced program, now with embedded license options, provides the power for
new and experienced developers -- from in-house development teams, to
entrepreneurial startups, to commercial developers -- to create
cutting-edge Mac OS X applications.

Apple Expo, Paris - September 10, 2002 - OpenBase International, Ltd.,
developers of the first relational SQL database on Mac OS X, today
announced a newly enhanced program to support developers building and
shipping solutions with OpenBase SQL database technologies.

The newly announced OpenBase Developer Alliance (ODA) offers developers a
choice of cost-effective license options for the powerful OpenBase
database, which has long been recognized for delivering both scalable
performance and fault-tolerant data protection at an affordable price.

Developers who distribute OpenBase database software as part of their
software solution, for example, can take advantage of new embedded license
options that reduce costs and eliminate the burden of having to administer
licensing fees. ODA members embedding the OpenBase database in their
solutions can also receive cash-back annuities when their customers upgrade
to a multi-user OpenBase license.

"The new Developer Alliance memberships not only give you royalty-free,
single-user licenses, but also a revenue stream when customers upgrade to
multi-user versions," said Matthew Renda, Director of Worldwide Marketing
for OpenBase.

"Software developers can now create solutions with royalty-free,
single-user versions of OpenBase which can then scale to multiple users."
said Scott Keith, CTO of OpenBase International. "There is now no reason to
roll your own single user database."

ODA members can also take advantage of a wide variety of services and
resources to ensure they make the most of such advanced OpenBase database
features as automated credit card processing or email functions. These
include: an ODA Tool Connection for publishing and sharing software; access
to KnowledgeBases for WebObjects and OpenBase technologies; a complete
extranet application for tracking purchases and technical support
questions; and early access to new OpenBase SQL beta software.

Developers can choose among five different levels of ODA membership,
depending on the database features, tools, and resources they need to
design and build their applications.
