OBJECT DOMAIN SYSTEMS RELEASES NEW VERSION OF UML MODELING TOOL

Group development and reuse primary focus of ObjectDomain R3

Raleigh, NC, September 11, 2001 - Object Domain Systems Inc. today
announced the release of ObjectDomain R3, a new iteration of its flagship
UML modeling tool that offers a substantial increase in features and
functionality.

ObjectDomain is complete modeling solution that allows developers to
analyze, design, build, and deploy enterprise systems. Popular for its
extensive feature set, elegant user interface, and open architecture,
ObjectDomain runs on any Java hosted environment including Windows, Linux,
Unix, and Macintosh. Among its many new features, ObjectDomain R3 adds
Shared Packages (TM), a unique mechanism for multi-user development that
doesn't require a server component.

"Team collaboration and reuse are fundamental to the success of model
driven development," said Dan Snider, CEO of ObjectDomain." The Shared
Package mechanism in ObjectDomain R3 is an intuitive extension to a
fundamental UML concept that allows developers to compose, share, and
version any modeling asset in a logical and controlled manner.

New features of ObjectDomain R3 include:

Shared Packages for scalable multi-user development and reuse
XMI for Industry standard import and export
Advanced searching with regular expression support
Roundtrip engineering support for C++
Related element expansion and relationship filtering for diagrams
UI enhancements include drag and drop, multi-element editing, and related
element browsing
3D element presentation and custom stereotype graphics
Enhanced integrated scripting and command console
Java 2 support

Pricing and Availability

ObjectDomain will be available within 30 days from Object Domain Systems or
an authorized distributor. ObjectDomain professional starts at $995(US)
with a standard version available for $495.
