Zoom Introduces New External ISDN Terminal Adapters for Macintosh Users

Boston, MA, November 9, 1998 - Zoom Telephonics, a telecommunications
technology pioneer and leader since 1977, is now shipping to Macintosh
users a line of feature-rich external ISDN terminal adapters with
exceptional voice telephony and fax support.

All models feature two POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) ports, each of
which can handle one of up to five voice telephony devices (such as
standard telephones, fax machines and analog modems). One adapter model,
the MX, features a V.34 faxmodem to provide global interoperability with
analog modems and fax machines.

According to Ted Mina, Zoom's ISDN product line manager, "The Zoom /ISDN
externals provide the best price/performance/feature offering for Macintosh
users in the market today.

The most striking cosmetic feature of the new Zoom devices is their array
of LED status lights: eleven on the TX models and fourteen on the MX. Cool
looks aside, the indicators provide full status reporting of the ISDN line,
POTS ports and the DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) port.

Each product is bundled with easy installation software to configure,
diagnose and, if necessary, troubleshoot both the adapter and ISDN line to
which it is connected. The award-winning FaxSTF' fax and MicroPhone' LT
terminal communications programs are also included in the software bundle.
The software is supported in five languages. Required cables are included
in the product package as well.

The Zoom/ISDN MX and TX are available for immediate delivery and can be
ordered in either a BRI U (North America), or a BRI S/T (international)
configuration.

Estimated street prices for each of the models is as follows:
- Model 2015 (TX BRI U) is $239 Model 2035 (TX BRI S/T) is $219
- Model 2025 (MX BRI U) is $259 Model 2045 (MX BRI S/T) is $239

Zoom Telephonics markets faxmodems, ISDN products, full motion digital
cameras, network routers and wireless network products for business and
home use. Zoom designs and produces its products in Boston, Massachusetts
for distribution worldwide.
