STARNINE'S WEBSTAR SERVER SUITE 4.0 PUBLIC BETA NOW AVAILABLE

BERKELEY, Calif., April 27, 1999 -- StarNine Technologies, Inc. today
announced a Public Beta version of their new WebSTAR(R) Server Suite
4.0 is now available for evaluation and testing from StarNine's Web
site (for technical details see related press release dated 3/29/99).
This upcoming major upgrade to StarNine's popular WebSTAR suite of
integrated Internet server software sports a dramatically faster Web
server, adds a new SMTP/POP/IMAP email server with LDAP and remote
Web-based email access capabilities, incorporates Lasso(tm)-based
FileMaker Pro(R) and ODBC database publishing capabilities, adds
integrated SSLv2 and SSLv3 with support for multiple certificates, IP
addresses and encryption options, plus dozens of other improvements
to the core WebSTAR servers and plug-ins. WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0
Public Beta release 1 is available immediately for download,
evaluation and testing at (http://www.starnine.com/webstarbeta/).

"Since adding FTP and Proxy servers in the WebSTAR 3.0 release,
WebSTAR has become an integrated set of servers Webmasters and online
retailers dream about," explained Eric Zelenka, WebSTAR product
manager at StarNine. "Now with the new email server WebSTAR has truly
become an entire Server Suite providing a complete drop-and-go
business infrastructure in one package. Even users focused only on
Web serving will find the dramatic two-fold increase in performance
well worth the upgrade."

Pricing and Availability
WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0 is scheduled for release in June of this
year. WebSTAR 3.x customers can upgrade to WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0
for $199. Upgrades from 2.x are $299, and upgrades from 1.x are $399.
WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0 is priced at $599 for new customers.
Education institutions are eligible for a 20% discount.

Customers who ordered WebSTAR 3.x after April 1, 1999 will be
eligible to download a free upgrade to WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0, or
purchase an upgrade package for $10 plus shipping and handling for a
CD-ROM and printed manual.
