announced the immediate availability of WebSTAR(tm) 3.0.1, a free update to
the WebSTAR 3.0 set of integrated Internet servers for Mac OS(tm). This
update release offers fixes and several improvements to the existing
features, including greater FTP client compatibility, enhanced HTTP
support, and improved Web site indexing and search capabilities. Available
today, WebSTAR 3.0.1 can be downloaded from (http://www.starnine.com/)
including WebSTAR/SSL, WebSTAR FTP and Proxy servers. New copies of WebSTAR
3.0.1 are priced at $499, with upgrades priced at $199 for current users of
version 2.x, and $299 for users upgrading from version 1.x.

Expanded FTP Client Compatibility

WebSTAR 3.0.1's integrated FTP server now supports an even larger variety
of FTP clients with greater reliability. Administrators can update Web
sites quickly and easily from any platform. Compatibility with a wider
variety of clients also assures administrators that their users can access
FTP download sites, no matter which platforms those users prefer.

WebSTAR FTP permissions are easily configurable and allow a full range of
FTP site styles -- from simple anonymous login FTP sites to complex
configurations with unique default folders and individual user permissions.

Enhanced Support for HTTP, Indexing, Search & More

HTTP 1.1 support was introduced in WebSTAR 3.0, to ensure the widest
compatibility with current and future browsers. StarNine continues to
demonstrate its commitment to industry standards by improving WebSTAR's
HTTP support in version 3.0.1.

Additionally, WebSTAR 3.0's powerful index and searching capabilities were
improved in version 3.0.1, for increased reliability and more accurate
search results. Based on the Apple Information Access Toolkit, WebSTAR's
search engine can index and search your site's text, HTML, and Adobe
Acrobat PDF files.
