Thursby Software Announces DAVE v2.5

For release Monday, October 25, 1999

ARLINGTON TEXAS (October 25,1999) --Thursby Software Systems, Inc. (Thursby
Software) announced today that it has released the latest version of its
award winning software product, DAVE v2.5 for the Apple Macintosh.

DAVE v2.5 is Apple Macintosh based software that allows Macintosh users to
share files and PostScript printers with Windows NT, Windows 95/98, and
Windows 2000 users. Since DAVE v2.5 "speaks" the same standard network
protocols (SMB and CIFS) over TCP/IP as do all of the Microsoft systems,
this timesaving aspect of DAVE v2.5 requires no modifications to any of the
Microsoft systems in order to share their resources.

New features of the DAVE v2.5 release include support of Apple's latest
Version 9 operating system including enhancements to support its new
multi-user features. Also included is support of Microsoft's latest Windows
2000.

Thursby Software has simplified the installation of DAVE v2.5 using a new
set up assistant that quickly steps both novice and advanced users through
the installation process. This new feature has been particularly well
received by Macintosh users who are new to Microsoft networking concepts.

DAVE v2.5 brings a new utility that allows the Macintosh user to browse the
entire network neighborhood without needing to mount any network volumes.
This new utility also brings enhanced flexibility and increased speed of
transfer to the user in how files are copied and ensures file name
compatibility between the different systems.

DAVE v2.5 will be available this week and is distributed worldwide. Thursby
Software has maintained the current retail price of $149 for single
licenses and has aggressive discounts for both multi-license and
educational users.

Free updates are available on-line for customers who purchased DAVE v2.1
after August 1, 1999 and for those under maintenance agreements. Full
details about updates for other customers are available on Thursby
Software's web pages and vary depending upon the customer's desire to have
electronic or printed updates, as well as consideration of quantities being
updated.

Thursby Software Systems, Inc. of Arlington, Texas, has been developing,
supporting and marketing a wide variety of connectivity solutions worldwide
since 1986. Thursby Software products also include MacNFS, TSStalk, and
AppleTalk client software for Windows 95/98/NT. The company can be
