SONNET DROPS PRICES ON G3 UPGRADES FOR "UPGRADE-CHALLENGED" MACS

SONNET LEADS MAC UPGRADE MARKET WITH DRAMATICALLY LOWER PRICES ON
SERIES OF L2 CACHE SLOT PROCESSOR UPGRADE CARDS

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA. MAY 7, 1999. Sonnet Technologies sets new
price/performance standards for G3 processor upgrades with lower
prices on its Crescendo TM G3 product lines for the
"upgrade-challenged" Macintosh models. These processor upgrade cards
occupy the L2 cache slot for Macintosh computers which are built with
the CPU soldered directly onto the motherboard, instead of an
upgradeable daughter card. With the processor upgrade installed into
the L2 cache slot, these "upgrade-challenged" machines achieve a
significant performance increase.

Crescendo G3 for PCI/L2 (Upgrade-challenged) Macs
New prices are as follows:
Crescendo G3/L2 250/512K $299.95
Crescendo G3/L2 300/512K $399.95
Crescendo G3/L2 300/1M $499.95
Crescendo G3/L2 400/1M $799.95

The Crescendo G3/L2 processor cards are compatible with the following
Macintosh models:
* Power Mac 4400, 5400, 5500*, 6400, 6500*, 7220
* Performa 5400, 5410, 5420, 5430, 5440, 6360, 6400, 6410, 6420
* 20th Anniversary Mac*
* Power Computing PowerBase
* Motorola StarMax 3000, 4000, 5000*, 5500*

* Indicated models are 50 MHz bus Macintosh models which can support
the Crescendo G3/L2 400 MHz processor upgrade cards.
