Sonnet Offers Accelerated Video Card for 7100 and 8100 Power Macintosh

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA. September 2, 1998. Sonnet Technologies, the leading

computers, introduced a new accelerated video card for the 7100 and 8100
PCI Power Macintosh. The Sonata Pro 24 is a Nubus video card which offers
enhanced video performance and is targeted at 7100 and 8100 owners who have
or are considering the purchase of a G3 processor upgrade card to expand
the life of their older Macintoshes. Now the owners of the 7100 and 8100
PowerMac have the opportunity to upgrade their video performance while
upgrading their processor speed too, comments President and CEO Robert
Farnsworth. They can now chose between Sonnets Sonata Pro 24 Video Card,
or the video adapter kit to compliment their Crescendo G3 upgrade
purchase.

The Sonata Pro 24 Nubus Video Card (by Village Tronic) supports up to 24
monitors and delivers up to 1920x1080 in thousands of colors, or 1142x870
in millions of colors (full 24 bit color). The card features QuickTime and
MPEG acceleration, plus 4MB of on board VRAM, double the VRAM on an AV
card. Ultimately, the Sonata Pro 24 NuBus Video Card delivers performance,
resolution and color depth that is comparable or superior to the Apple HPV
card and superior to the Apple AV cards.
