[NPL] PowerLogix Bundles LinuxPPC w/all G3/G4 Upgrade Cards

AUSTIN, Texas, September 13, 1999 -- PowerLogix, a leader in the processor
upgrade card market for the Mac and the the first company to demonstrate
G4-based upgrades for PowerMacs, today announced plans to bundle LinuxPPC
1999 with all PowerLogix G3 and G4 upgrade cards.

LinuxPPC 1999 offers the latest technologies and enhancements to the Linux
operating system. It is the fifth release by LinuxPPC Inc.

Now Powerlogix customers will be able to use the fastest processors in the
world with the world's fastest and most popular web serving platform.
Access to all popular Linux applications such as Apache HTTP Server and
GIMP is now at their fingertips with an easy-to-use, full release LinuxPPC
package. This is not a demo! All the power of MacOS X with a
well-established user base, and free!

Included in the bundle is the full release LinuxPPC 1999, which includes a
two CD-ROM set: the install CD with hundreds of free, professional quality
utilities, and a second CD-ROM that contains the entire source code for

The LinuxPPC bundle will be added to the PowerForce accelerator package and
will start appearing in distribution channels within ten days.

In addition, PowerLogix announced version 1.1 of G3 Cache Profiler, now
renamed as G3/G4 Cache Profiler.

G3/G4 Cache Profiler version 1.1 will:
* accurately report clock speed on G4 as well as all G3 processors
(including those with 9:1 or 10:1 bus ratio)
* accurately report cache speed settings on all G4 as well as all G3
processors (including those with 9:1 or 10:1 bus ratio)
* allows easy configuration of backside cache (up to 1Mb for G3, up to
2Mb for G4)
* offers full legacy compatibility settings, bringing advances from the
latest Apple machines to the older Macs
* dynamic power management, and even support for configuring the backside
cache when using Linux.

G3/G4 Cache Profiler offers an intuitive interface and the most complete
feature set of any competing product, including software compatibility for
Adaptec SCSI cards, Media 100, and other cards that are usually finicky
when used with G3 or G4 processors. All the features of the the competition
