About PhotoGIF Filter:

PhotoGIF Filter is the universal power tool from the 3rd generation
PhotoGIF Series. Designed as a filter plug-in, PhotoGIF Filter extends the
award winning Web-graphics production power of PhotoGIF to all image
editing applications properly supporting the Photoshop 2.5 or greater
filter plug-in interface. (i.e. Just about any applications that have
claimed Photoshop plug-in support for the last five years and any version
of Photoshop from 2.5 to the latest version 5.0.) Smaller files, better
looking images, faster production all in one easy tool for Macintosh and
Windows. For more information or to download demo versions for Macintosh or
Windows please visit the BoxTop Web site at: http://www.boxtopsoft.com

PhotoGIF Filter 1.1 Macintosh Update Notes:

***Finished full QA testing with the new Photoshop 5.0 with no
compatibility problems found. Memory management in Photoshop 5.0 actually
seems to be improved, with more memory for plug-ins now. Also noticed quite
a bit of speed improvement over the last two versions when using PhotoGIF
Filter. Looks good as gold.

***Final manual is now included in Adobe PDF format. We still plan to
produce an Apple Guide to supplement the documentation, which will be in
the next update for PhotoGIF Filter.

***Added Balloon Help to all dialogs with our best attempt at actually
helpful messages. That is little guarantee all actually are, though. It's
Balloon Help after all.

***Fixed a small memory leak that had been occurring every time color
reduction was canceled in the process of building the palette. This was
fragmenting memory and could have caused some stability problems after many
consecutive uses of the filter.

***Fixed a minor interface bug in the color reduction dialog that caused
the palette to not re-draw if the base palette was changed to the same
palette as the image palette was.

***Made the process of unloading extra loaded palettes "immensely" easier
with new "Unload" button in the color reduction dialog.

***Made significant improvement to fixed palette color reduction so that
palettes are compacted to just the set of colors actually used and the bit
depth is forced as low as possible for more compression when possible.

***Changed the default tab panel in the GIF options dialog to the
transparency tab and last panel used is now saved in preferences so it
stays on the panel you put it on last.

***Implemented preferences file version control, so you don't need to
delete your old prefs file because of the above change.

***Aesthetic changes made to the remove color caution alert. It's a bit
better proportioned and centers consistently with other alerts now.

***Changed default background color from black (RGB 0, 0, 0) to "Browser
gray" (RGB 192, 192, 192) which makes a lot more sense than black.
