Paradigma Releases Fastest Scriptable Database Valentina 1.2.1

May 13, 1999. Beaverton, Oregon. Paradigma Software unveiled the
latest upgrade of its scriptable Macintosh OS based database product,
Valentina 1.2.1.

Valentina is a powerful scriptable Macintosh OS based application
which allows users to assemble extremely fast database driven
solutions using Apple Computer's AppleScript. Using AppleScript, a
developer or designer can create, modify, search and sort databases,
by sending commands and receiving data back from Valentina, from
within any Macintosh application that is AppleScript savvy.

The update includes added functionality for scripting the default
language of a database, allowing greater flexibility on sorting and
searching multiple, open databases using different languages. Its
ability to receive multiple records from a single query has also been
dramatically improved.

"This update gives Valentina designers the ability to work with
greater volumes of data from users around the world and usable with
any language, from Japanese to German, making it a perfect complement
to any Macintosh based web server," said Ruslan Zasukhin, President
of Paradigma Software.

Apple Computer recently upgraded the Macintosh OS to version 8.6,
adding new scheduled automation features. Combining Paradigma
Software's Valentina with AppleScript savvy RAD tools like REAL
Software's REALbasic allows users to rapidly create automated,
database enabled solutions.

Paradigma Software also makes Valentina SDK, which allows C/C++
programmers to create database driven applications based on licensed
Valentina technology. It is currently available for Macintosh. A
Windows version is in development and will be available shortly.

Valentina is built on the ultra-fast Valentina database kernel. The
kernel has been tested as indexing and searching 100-500 times faster
than many popular Macintosh-based databases on the market, and with
sorting tests ranging up to several thousand times faster. It
supports fields of type boolean, byte, short, ushort, long, ulong,
string, date, time, BLOB and ObjectPtr. Database files can be up to 4
GB in size, and up to 4 billion records per table. Its support for
BLOB objects allows for storage of almost any binary datatype,
including graphics and video.

Valentina 1.2.1 and Valentina SDK is available for immediate download
from the Paradigma Software web site at http://www.paradigmasoft.com.
The update is free for owners of Valentina v.1. Valentina 1.2.1 has a
direct price of $49, with domestic and international volume pricing
through Proactive International, LLC, Paradigma Software's US partner
at http://www.proactive-intl.com
