[NPL] N2MP3: Mac MP3 Audio Encoder

Omaha, Nebraska - Proteron, LLC today released an update to N2MP3, the
popular Macintosh MP3 audio encoder. Recommended for all users and Mac
audiophiles, the update is immediately available at www.n2mp3.com.

N2MP3 aims to be the best MP3 encoder available for the Macintosh. It
simplifies encoding so that the novice iMac user can enjoy the benefits of
MP3, yet provides high-end hi-fi quality for the veteran MP3 fan.
N2MP3's key features include:

- Seamless Drag-and-Drop encoding from audio CDs
- High quality, fast MP3 encoding engine with support for VBR
- Play As You Encode(TM) technology
- Live CDDB support for desktop naming of discs and tracks
- Support for ID3 tags
- Integration with Panic's recently announced Audion MP3 and CD player
- Encoding of AIFF and PC WAV file formats
- CD ripping for lossless audio capture

Worth noting:
On iMacs, iBooks and all G3 processor's, N2MP3 remains the fastest Mac MP3
encoder available. Claims of high-speed by other encoders requires Apple's
recently released G4 with Velocity Engine. Work is currently underway to
optimize N2MP3 for the G4 with Velocity Engine. N2MP3 will be clearly
faster when the optimized version is made publicly available, set to be
released when the G4's ship in quantity.

N2MP3 remains the leader in quality encoding. Whistling, snapping, and
popping noises heard in inferior encoders are not present in files encoded
by N2MP3. The accuracy of MP3 files produced by this easy-to-use encoder is
reportedly become a favorite of MP3.com listeners world wide.

N2MP3 is available for free download as a preview release which limits
encoding to twenty tracks and thereafter will only encode the first minute
of additional tracks. A version history containing complete details on the
changes to N2MP3 in this update is included in the download.
