Mainstay Updates JustMail(tm)
Private, Web-based Email Client Java Applet Now Supports APOP

Camarillo, CA, March 15, 1999-Mainstay today began shipping an
updated JustMail(tm), a private and secure client to access an email
account anytime, anywhere, using only a web browser. The updated
JustMail 1.0.5 adds support for APOP, automatic signature messages,
and the ability to customize both the login page and the JustMail
browser window. JustMail now supports the optional use of the
industry standard APOP encryption protocol for secure email password
authentication. The added security feature gives JustMail users the
confidence that their email login process is as secure as it is using
an email client application. JustMail 1.0.5 signatures give users
the ability to set up a customizable message and automatically add it
to the bottom of every outgoing message. Advanced customization to
the look and feel of the JustMail login page and browser window make
JustMail perfect for use by ISPs who want to offer web-based email
under their own name.

JustMail is a Java applet which is added to a user's web page. A
user simply brings up the JustMail page, enters their name and
password and clicks "Connect". The JustMail email client opens in a
separate window with a display similar to that of popular email
client applications. Users can read their mail and send and receive
messages while continuing to browse the web. JustMail works on any
website that has an email server running at the same IP address as
the HTTP server, and requires no server-side applications, scripts,
CGIs, or plug-ins.

"The product is ideal for a person who travels and for anyone who
uses more than one computer," says Tom Nalevanko, president of
Mainstay. "For example, a student could access mail on any computer
in a computer lab with no program setup." JustMail is not an email
service but rather accesses an existing email account. This approach
results in increased privacy and security when compared to web-based
email services. No questions are ever asked about the user's personal
information, and email names and passwords are never stored or
entrusted to a third party.

JustMail offers a snappy application-type email interface similar to
popular email applications. There is no page refresh between messages
or any of the other limitations of a clumsy HTML-based interface.
JustMail displays email in a free-floating window, allowing continued
web browsing while reading and sending email. Reading a series of
messages is quickly done by simply selecting from an email message
list or by using the up or down arrow keys. The JustMail applet is
fast and responsive at only 34 KB in size and downloads quickly, even
on relatively slow modems. JustMail works with Windows 95/98/NT,
Macintosh and Unix.

A free, fully functional, promotional version of JustMail places a
self-promotion line at the end of every sent email. This free,
promotional version is available from www.mstay.com and most popular
download sites.

For situations where email is desired without promotional messages, a
commercial version of JustMail is available for $39.95, single user,
and $495 for corporate or educational website licenses. A
multi-site, commercial, or OEM license is also available for ISPs and
larger corporations. JustMail can be purchased, with immediate
electronic delivery, at: http://www.mstay.com. For more information,
contact Lance Merker at (805) 484-9400, or by email at
