[NPL] MacCoach 2.0b3

MacCoach 2 introduced at MacWorld Expo New York

Neuron Data Systems, Deventer, The Netherlands, July 16, 1998 For immediate
release.

Deventer, The Netherlands -- Neuron Data Systems introduced MacCoach 2 at
MacWorld Expo New York.

MacCoach is the worlds first compact micro-processor based ADB device
without the need for an external power supply. MacCoach works diligently in
the background monitoring your system and fixing problems automatically to
ensure that you get the most out of your Macintosh. After a crash MacCoach
automatically restarts the Macintosh, even if the standard keyboard
sequence normally used to restart, fails to function. MacCoach reduces
unscheduled downtime to a minimum.

The new release for MacCoach is a software only update and will work with
all MacCoach devices previously sold by Neuron Data Systems. MacCoach's new
release sports important features not only allowing web masters and system
managers to keep their systems up and running but also assisting them in
locating the source of problems.

MacCoach's System Crash Detection automatically restarts a Macintosh if the
system comes to a grinding halt. No matter how serious the crash, MacCoach
will reliably restart your system.

MacCoach's Application Crash Detection automatically keeps track of
application crashes. Upon an application crash, MacCoach will attempt to
restart the system in a way that prevents loss of data. MacCoach will
automatically quit all other running applications, close all open files,
flush and unmount all volumes and restart the machine. If, for whatever
reason this soft restart method fails, the MacCoach device will eventually
intervene to restart the system. The best aspect of MacCoach's Application
Crash Detection is that there's no need for active external application
support such as plug ins. MacCoach will catch each and every application
crash from any application, even those of processes such as the Finder and
AppleShare IP.

MacCoach's System Log shows a comprehensive report providing a complete
history of MacCoach activities, System Restarts and Shutdowns, and
application crashes. The log file shows date, time, the name of the
application and possibly the type of error caused by the application.
Optionally you can specify the log file to be in HTML format, allowing you
to check your server from any place in the world.

MacCoach already received rave reviews from leading magazines and
enthusiastic responses from its users in over 20 countries world wide.
Apple's European Data Center was among the first users to apply MacCoach on
a larger scale. "MacCoach enhanced the availability of our services and
lets us run our server systems virtually unattended" says Astrid Nijenhuis,
Internet Site master at Apple's European Data Center. MacCoach is currently
used by all of Apple's larger data centers around the world.

Neuron Data Systems aims at providing world class solutions in hardware and
software. Our employees and staff have a long and outstanding track record
in the development and marketing of innovative and reliable solutions.

Best regards,

Neuron Data Systems
