gPort adds Serial to Yosemite

Nashville, TN -- January 13, 1998 -- Griffin Technology, Inc. today
announced the gPort universal serial adapter for the new Yosemite
based G3 Macs. Until now users of the upcoming G3 systems were
relegated to non standard serial solutions that only provide partial
functionality. The gPort opens the entire world of Mac serial devices
to G3 users including printers, Midi devices, modems, lab equipment,
serial input tablets, and digital cameras. "You will now be able use
any Mac compatible serial device with your G3", says Paul Griffin,
CEO of Griffin Technology Corporation. The gPort even supports
localtalk for printing to LaserWriters and other localtalk printers
as well as file sharing on localtalk networks.

At MSRP of $49.00, Griffin Technology's gPort adapter will offer a
great solution for all G3 computer users. The adapter is fully
compliant with all Apple and third party serial devices and localtak
devices. It is also Geoport compatible. The gPort is slated to ship
in mid Febuary.

Apple has made another revolutionary change in the computer industry
with the Yosemite based G3 Macs by being the first to only support
USB and Firewire i/o devices. The gPort will ease the transition
period by offering a large number of compatibility options
immediately for users.

Since 1992, Griffin Technology has been an innovator of exciting
hardware and software products for the Mac market. Griffin currently
manufactures numerous innovative video, audio, and iMac adapters for
the Mac. They also maintain the world's largest database of monitor
